Rooms a bit dated.. (South tower better). Decent value. Nice lively bar and patio. Would not spend a whole vacation there but will return prior to departure. The restaurant is open late but the food is a bit plain.

Very convenient with airport & Shopping shuttle service, but the last one DOES NOT work on Sundays!!
Rooms have no mini fridge nor coffee maker, not even at the lobby, like most standard hotels do.
No breakfast

Room Tip: Far from the noisy club

I stayed here after a flight delay at LAX. It's quite dated and has a Mexican theme. For the price you would pay, it's probably not too bad. The staff were reasonably good at handling the influx of people from the flight that was delayed. The rooms are old but comfortable and good size

The hotel is located close to LAX, with a free shuttle which is a little it outdated.
The hallways we're a bit smelly, luckely the room wasn't.
The bathroom needs some improvements.
It's like a mass tourism hotel not my cup of tea

Room Tip: Try not to have a room in the west wing

Good deal with a few caveats. Their Stay & Park for 2 weeks (outdoor parking and $6 a day after the 2 weeks) makes sense. Good shuttle service to airport. Ralph's grocery store across the street. Many takeout joints. I have been staying in the hotel off and on since 1973. Much has not changed. The main building and the west tower seem to have only superficial changes over the years. For example the balcony sliding glass windows not sound proof. How about a 21 inch box style TV? HD...no way. Our room had a motion sensor switch that turned on bright florescent lights over the window. Not good when they came on three times during the night. I called the front desk to find out how to disable the feature and he said he didn't know but could send someone up. The “new” South Tower, I think was built, I guessing, in the 1990's. The ice machine is in the same location it has always been...bottom of the stairs in the main building. Air conditioning/heating is a rotary OFF-LOW-MED-HIGH. Now don't be discouraged by these minor problems. I recommend the hotel. I just wish I owned a piece of it, they must be printing money...like Washington DC...except the Hacienda gives good value. Try it.

OK, so I got a cheap price (we were here for 10 days.....standby travel...love it) which probably made it seem better value but really this place is OK.
Yes, the 'Main Building', which we stayed in for the first 5 days, does have a strange smell to it, I guess it's the carpet cleaner they've been using for 20+ years but it's not a horrible smell...it's just a smell...after a few minutes your nose gets accustomed to it and you don't notice it.
The South Tower, where we stayed for the duration, didn't smell and the rooms were slightly bigger and we had views of a tree instead of other rooms.
So, yes, it's old, it's not the Hyatt or the Hilton but it IS cheap, and it's clean, it's quiet, tidy, the staff are for the most part great, and it's in a safe area.
There's safety deposit boxes at reception, there's Starbucks, a supermarket and several food outlets right across the road and Manhattan Village and the beach are short cab rides away...that makes it way superior to all those other airport hotels that have nothing close by. Not to mention the dedicated airport shuttles every 15 minutes!!

Room Tip: South tower, south facing, high floor.

Lots of travellers stop here for one or two nights, as we did, both individuals and groups. We were never disturbed by the noise of other guests. Our room was a little tired looking, but clean. The bed was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they gave good instructions about the parking and the metro. The whole hotel is a little tired looking but it serves its purpose - a transit hotel. Ralph's supermarket is across the road, as is Starbucks and quite a few fast food places. The restaurant on site offers value for money, although at times the service was a little slow.
