Stayed at this hotel for a few nights prior to departing LA. Couldn't really fault it at all. Comfortable, great service, reasonable price and so very well located opposite metro station and near LAX.

We stayed at the HGI El Segundo to visit family in the LA area. It's positioned next to a train line and near LAX, but we were surprised at how amazingly soundproofed the rooms were - - we never heard the planes or trains. It's a quick drive to beaches, close to restaurants, and shopping. They have very comfortable rooms and had a very nice pool. Our only complaint was the abysmal wifi, but it was being repaired during our stay so may be fine now.

Take your own soap and shampoo or be prepared to wait for housekeeping. Also, we had to call everyday for them to deliver coffee for the maker. Call a cab instead of the van. We were dropped off at the wrong door. Breakfast buffet is cold and expensive.

Hello Robert,

Thank you very much for taking the time to review our hotel and share with us your experiences. We would also like to apologize for any experiences you have that were not up to expectations with our property and team. It goes against everything we stand for which is guest satisfaction.

Our housekeeping team does replace coffee for our keurig coffee makers in our guestrooms daily. We will certainly review with our team to see what might have happened and make the necessary steps to ensure this does not happen again. We and even more so myself understand how important coffee can be in the morning and with our hotel being primarily business minded travelers; we need to make sure coffee is readily available.

Our breakfast offered each morning is truly delicious and often times complimented by our guests and so this is very strange to hear that we again fell short on expectations. Our price of 11.95 per person for a full American style buffet with cooked to order options, continental options as well as cold options is priced well below surrounding hotels and restaurants that offer similar packages.

We certainly would like the opportunity to have you stay with us again Should travels ever bring you back through Los Angeles; we hope to be considered as an option which will allow us an opportunity to win back your confidence.

All of the employees from the front desk, waiter to the maid are friendly and make you feel special. The accommodations are 1st class and the bedding is very comfortable. Would stay here again if in the area.

Let me start by saying that in my opinion a five star hotel is the best of the best, this is a good hotel but it doesn't compare to an exceptional luxury hotel. If you've have ever stayed at one you'll never compare it to any Hilton Garden Inn, it isn't fair. That being said, this is a good hotel. The hotel is clean and well kept. Kudos to the staff, they were all kind, helpful and full of smiles.

I drove to the hotel and stayed there for four nights. The hotel and grounds are pleasant to look at, clean and well kept, just like the interior of the hotel. The pool looks just like the photos on the hotel website, as does the rest of the hotel, no bait and switch here. Check in was quick.

Our room was a handicapped accessible room as my wife must use a wheelchair. The room was spacious and included a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Maybe because it was a handicapped accessible room but out bed wasn't the most comfortable. When you check in there is a sign that advertises the "Garden Sleep System", it's an adjustable bed. Apparently all the rooms have one except the handicapped accessible rooms. I understand the handicapped accessible rooms are the hotels best effort to have a one size fits all room for everyone who is handicapped but in the end we didn't get the comfortable bed.

There is no light in the shower in the handicapped accessible bathroom? When you close the shower curtain it gets dark in there. If you are handicapped and must use the shower the one size fits all fold down seat is small, great for a small person but too small for most big or tall adults.

I ate breakfast at the hotel each morning. There is a cook who makes eggs, omelets, pancakes, french toast and a breakfast burrito. If you eat what the chef cooks, the food is decent, no complaints. Some of the add ons, hash browns, bacon, sausage, aren't so good. The hash browns taste previously frozen. There are a few bowls of fresh fruit and several carafe's of fruit drinks (orange juice, apple juice) cereal, milk, bread and muffins as well as make your own waffle. Most of the tables are full in the morning so the food is either decent or there is no place else to eat.

That seems to be the one downfall of this hotel, if you don't eat at the hotel you need to walk awhile or drive somewhere else. There is a 24 hour Ralph's Grocery store about 1/2 mile away and there are a few places to eat near the grocery store. Would I walk to the store? If it was daylight maybe, I wouldn't encourage my wife or kid to walk there alone. I'm not saying it's a bad area, I don't know. It's a light industrial area with a couple of hotels and a bus stop along the way. Probably not a problem in the daylight, but I wouldn't recommend it at night.

Overall this is a nice place and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again or recommend it.

While we are technically not a 5 star hotel in the luxury hotel rating scale; we certainly strive to always provide nothing but exceptional 5 star service as our goal is guest satisfaction. By reading your review, it sounds like our team did deliver on all levels and made for an enjoyable stay. In regards to your bed, we do apologize for not assisting in making your sleep even more comfortable. All of our beds do have an adjustable option with the controls located on the side of the mattress nearest the head of the bed. It does require that you pull back the sheets to adjust to the desired firmness. We apologize if that was not clearly described or explained and we will address it with our team to ensure that proper guidance is explained thoroughly. If you could be so kind as to email me your dates of stay as well as room number, I'll be happy to inspect this room to ensure that everything is working properly to ensure that future guests do not run into the same challenge.

Thank you for joining us for breakfast during your visit as well! Our cooks take great pride in the dishes they cook and it sounds like that pride shined through with the fresh cooked to order offerings in the morning. As for the enhancements you spoke of; we will certainly review with our team to make sure that only the freshest products are offered.

The hotel is located in a very affluent as well as diverse corporate business area with light industrial complexes as well. Safety is always the priority for travelers and we are proud to be located in El Segundo as it is actually ranked and described as one of the safest cities in all of Southern California! We have the most sworn officers and fire fighters per resident as well as one of the quickest response times by an astounding time difference compared to other Los Angeles responder departments.

We appreciate your continued support and look forward to your next visit! Very close to the airport. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food is OK for this type of hotel. It was perfect for arriving late from a long flight from London. Just ate a decent enough meal, a few drinks and then a comfortable nights sleep.

Service should be greatly improved, breakfast was rushed, not greeted when entering hotel lobby, no welcome back as I usually receive when returning to hotel. Volunteered to take flight attendant to airport because he was ignored and shuttle was not there but hotel did have SUV.
