We enjoyed the stay at the hotel which was quite close to the airport. As we were visitors to the USA we did not have a local mobile number till after we checked in (our pre-paid SIM card was waiting at the hotel for us), and had to call the hotel using a pay phone at the airport for our hotel pick-up. We waited for an hour and there was still no sign. Eventually we called back the hotel who then advised us to take a cab and that the fare would be reimbursed. The reason for this was because they shared the shuttle with another Marriott property and they were informed that the bus was not available after they asked for the shuttle to pick us up. The hotel did reimburse us and gave us 1,000 points for the inconvenience. The staff were apologetic and arranged and paid for our trip back to the airport by taxi (as the shuttle again was not available) the next day. Overall the stay was short but gave us the break and rest we needed. Staff were great and helpful. Would have given them a 5 star rating if not for the transfer issue. There should be better co-ordination between the hotels concerned on the availability of the shuttle service so that guests that are not contactable would not be left waiting. We tried to ask the other Marriott hotel shuttles circling LAX if they could help us check why the bus had not appeared or contact someone, but not a single one was willing to help.
