We stopped in Dillon Beach Cafe after a long day on the beach. It was getting pretty cool outside & we wanted to warm up & have a nice warm meal.
There was a bachelorette party going on in th main dining room & it was kept fairly private so I can't comment on that area.
We were seated in the enclosed deck area. It was nice with a decent view. The pictures on the website make it look a wee bit fancier than it really is.
The waitress was nice & attentive. The service (food) was a bit slow becasue of the bachelorette party, but the waitress let each table know how many were in front of them & what the approximate wait would be, so we didn't mind. We enjoyed our hot chocolates (which were pretty good) & hot tea while we waited.
The food was just average, which is why I only gave a 3 or average rating. We had fried calamari for an appetizer, okay, a little rubbery. I had the southern fried chicken (a HUGE plate of food), which again was okay, not spectacular, not bad, filled me up for sure. My husband had clam chowder, one of his favorite dishes, which he is a bit picky about. He said the clam chowder was very good. His fish & chips were just so-so. My daughter had clam chowder in a bread bowl & said it was delicious. Another daughter had a burger & fries & said the burger was a bit dry but she liked the fires.
Over all it was okay. We liked how easy it was to get to, that there was not a long wait to be seated, it was warm & we enjoyed the view. The waitresses were very upfront, honest & attentive. We would eat there again. Also consider that there is no competition, since there are no other eating establishments in the area.
