Peaceful little inn, beautifully decorated. Loved the cozy TV room and the smell of Moroccan oils around the property. The bed offered a superb nights sleep. Highly recommend staying longer than one night to take in all that El Morocco has to offer.

We stayed for a night. Actually this is something for more than a day in order to enjoy relaxing at the pool. The staff is overwhelming friendly but balances not to go on your nerves. Great job!! Breakfast is very nice. They do not allow minor in the Inn which makes the pool area - the central location of the inn - very relaxing and quiet. Complimentary drinks and snacks around feel you being pampered. Be aware of the happy hour - the refills are happening at an astonishing rate. Our only drawback was the bed - we book a Queen size bed which we have at home. Since the mattress was soft my wife was rolling towards me (physics takes its toll). Overall: an enjoyable experience!

Room Tip: We went for the French Maroccon room. It is slightly cheaper than the others ($20). I'd add the...

After review on trip adviser chose this B&B for a few day retreat. El Morocco is hidden in a residential area so do not be surprised. This is an advantage as it is very quiet. The Jacuzzi pool is the best. We were in one of the Sultan rooms, in the back and on the second floor. The shower is very small, European size, the round bed is very low on the floor, and wifi reception in that area is poor. Went to the lounge area for better wifi. One nice thing about the second floor rooms is the view down the valley. There is also a very impressive DVD collection for guests to use, but not a decent TV to watch.

Suggestions to owners to make the rooms perfect: put in flat screen television, increase room rates if needed. Ad some extra towel racks in the bathrooms to hang pool towels and wet suits. Add an ottoman or two in front of the sofas.

Room Tip: we were in the Sultan room, second floor view fabulous, wifi connection bad, but very quiet. Shower...

Hi Thaddius,
Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear that you had a relaxing time at El Morocco Inn & Spa. We are working on the wi-fi issue and you’ll also be glad to know that we are in the process of replacing all the televisions with flat screens. We didn't want to do this all at once or it would have forced us to raise rates - which we did not want to do!!

Also, thank you for pointing out the lack of towel racks. The owner agrees with you and will be adding more racks as soon as possible.

Thanks again for your review and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Thought I'd already posted this review! We visited here for our 25th wedding anniversary (May 2011) and after the initial worry of driving through a residential street in the middle of the desert where we wanted to turn and run... But once inside you enter an oasis of calm. Rooms wonderful and well thought out. We smiled all the time we were there with all of the quirky, wonderful touches including Casablanca movie playing in the lounge (yes we did download a copy upon our return) and thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the lovely people during Happy Hour with our morocco tinis and then the tranquility of a late night dip in the spa and a nightcap round the fire pit! we didn't want to leave...

We enjoyed every second of our stay there and really took advantage of the place. We played chess on the life-size chess board, were in and out of the pool and jacuzzi the whole time, enjoyed sitting by the fire at night, and sipped the sherry they put out for guests. We will for sure go back one day. The happy hour is great and they were super generous with bringing additional rounds. We also brought our own snacks and wine, which turned out to be a great idea. Once you walk in, you won't want to leave!

It was the end of a busy, hectic year. We therefore made a decision for a 4 day get-a-way but wanted a place where we could simply relax and unwind - shut off the cell phones and detach from work (not an easy task but occassionally necessary to reground ourselves). Obviously, since I am writing a review, we decided on El Morocco. We each packed a bathing suit, 2 changes of clothes, boarded the plane with our carry-on luggage and iPads loaded with books to read, and we were off.
We opted for a car service from the airport rather then renting a car. Based on other reviews we knew there was a small bar fridge and microwave so we asked our driver to take us to a store first for some wine and snacks - however, we found out later that the inn does sell wine and has a small assortment of snacks so this was not really required. My only comment in regards to not renting a vehicle is that there are limited dining options in this area so I am unsure I would do that again, but as we never left the resort (ordered delivery from some local restaurants) this was not a problem for our short visit.
As other reviewers have mentioned, it was a bit of a shock getting to the location. The area that you pass through is reflective of an economy that has had some difficulties. When we arrived our driver was even looking at us as if to ask "Really?". We went to the front door and rang the buzzer while our driver waited to make sure we actually got inside (only guests and staff get a key to get inside the resort). From the moment we actually got inside it was excellent. The staff are calm, relaxed and very professional. The owners were very respectful to guests - if you wanted to talk and engage them in conversation they would, if you preferred to be alone they respected your privacy. We had 3 spa treatments with Gloria and Ruby and were amazed by their skill. I have nothing else to add that other reviewers have not already commented on other than this - if you want total peace and relaxation and to get away from it all with the bonus of a mineral hot tub and a naturally heated pool, this is the place. We will be back the next time we need a reality break. Oh, and since they supply robes and this place is secluded and casual, we pretty much stayed in our robes and bathing suits the entire trip, so unless you plan on leaving the resort you will not need to pack a lot - next time I would pack an extra bathing suit and one less change of clothes.

Four of us wanted to start the New Year with a spa experience. We chose El Morocco after looking at reviews and spa websites. I've experienced the large casino/spas and find them sterile and uninteresting. El Morocco was everything we wanted, warm, inviting, cozy, nurturing, and a great value! Bruce greeted us and gave us all the info we needed, and made us feel welcome. The decor and ambiance was a treat for all the senses.
Our massages were the best!!!!! Ruby and Gloria were so skilled and they truly have "healing hands". We had "shiatsu", "whirling dervish" and "raindrop". Prices for one hour were between $100 and $120.
At no extra cost, we were allowed to utilize the pool and the mineral water hot tub until 4 pm. A special tea/lemonade and local water were available at all times.
Ernest was very helpful, and we enjoyed talking with him and keeping him from his "chores".
We received exactly the experience we wanted and will definitely return.
We live in the area, so just did a day trip, but I would reccomend staying at this "boutique" hotel and spa if you are vacationing in the area and want a unique nurturing experience.
Thank you so much El Morocco!
