“Sagewater is a Sanctuary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

Sagewater is not your average hotel, it is a sanctuary, a mental retreat from the all the noise and chaos of the world. My partner and I arrived here looking for a much needed rest from the city grind. We were greeted by Cristina, who welcomed us with their delicious homemade coffee cake. The rooms are immaculately kept and stylishly designed. They come with a kitchenette, which allows you to cook your own meals and store your wine and beer. Once you are at Sagewater you will realize that you don't need much else than some light food, the magical mineral pools will do the rest. The pools are clean and set at the perfect temperature. Sagewater is very basic and simple, which is what is beautiful about it. As soon as you settle in, you'll the notice the silence of the surrounding desert. If you are looking for the loud hotel scene, you won't find it here. We ventured into Palm Springs one afternoon and I immediately regretted it. Just stay and enjoy the tranquility. Rhonni and Cristina are amazing hosts, they are very welcoming and true generous spirits. We are already talking about making Sagewater our regular vacation spot and I can't wait to return!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great! We had the room on the south side which was spacious and airy.

This is the fourth May that we have cast off our east coast inertia to return to the great rejuvenator. Our anticipation has always been rewarded. This year we found that hosts Rhoni and Cris have somehow found a way to produce a camaraderie among the guests that exceeded our previous experience. Since we spend much time around the great mineral water pools we appreciated the friendly atmosphere, enhanced by tasty Brazilian cocktails. When we add this to the excellent maintenance, physical properties, and mountain view we are thankful that we know where we are going next year.

We visited Sagewater Spa for the first time recently and just feel head over heels in love with the place and the people- Cristina and Ronnie (and their little dog, Sage!). The hotel is small, well-kept, clean, modern and fresh, with well-appointed rooms and two beautiful mineral pools just steps outside your room. Each room has a kitchenette so you can bring a bag of groceries and not leave the property at all. Honestly, you won't WANT to leave so I'd highly recommend bringing some wine, cheese, a crusty baguette and a salad so all you have to do is sit poolside, enjoy your meal and then walk into the lovely pools to soak and relax.

People always say they want to take a vacation to rejuvenate, then end up coming home tired and needing a vacation from their vacation. You won't feel that way after a visit to Sagewater Spa. With Cristina and Ronnie treating you like family (they hand you a loaf of the butteriest, most decadent coffee cake upon arrival and serve up cocktails and snacks in the afternoon) and the pools to sooth away stress, Sagewater is the ideal place to truly get away from it all, refresh and revive. We can't wait to return.

I've just returned from staying at the best place to guarantee my feeling relaxed and renewed,
Sagewater Spa. This place has it all, including the care and generosity of the owners, Rhoni and Cris. Sagewater is a small resort but has it all in a BIG way, beautiful, immaculate modern room, kitchen area, insanely comfortable bed with Frette linen, not to mention THAT "coffee cake" waiting to eat like a delicious gift. Yum. I have a very consuming job and the pool at Sagewater must have magical properties (probably does with the minerals) because once inside of it, every pain, problem disappears. I can stay in that soothing velvet water until resembling a prune. It the ONLY pool that makes me feel that way! I'm not a pool person.
Back to my work, refreshed and able to face work head on. THANKS Sagewater, you've done it again!!

My husband and I recently went for a visit to Sagewater Spa our favorite hotel/spa in United States. Rhoni and Cristina the owners are so acommadating and generous. They go above and beyond in making our stay wonderful. The rooms are immaculately clean and the atmosphere so sophisticated, simple & modern. The linens in the rooms are the finest and I am particular. The pool at Sagewater Spa has the purest mineral water. It is so luxurious bathing in the waters of the pool. When I am in the pool, I feel all the toxins leaving my body and I become relaxed and peaceful. My husband and I lead busy lives and coming to Sagewater is for me coming to Paradise, a peaceful respite for the 21st century lifestyle.

Room Tip: any room is wonderful

It's amazing that we have such great guests who travel Florida since you do have mostly good weather and palm trees....it must be our magic mineral water! It makes our hearts sing that you love Sagewater Spa as much as we do. Reserving your next stay prior to leaving tells the whole story, see you in November.

While the rooms and pool are were clean and the owners extremely nice, there is absolutely no way this room was worth the price. The rooms were extremely basic - concrete floors, small bathroom, queen bed, two night tables, black and white photo, TV on a rolling cart and small kitchen. There was a noisy wall air conditioning unit/heater. Forget the free wifi - we had to stand outside the office door to connect. There is no cleaning of the room or fresh towels during your stay and the Aveda products advertised consists of one small hotel size shampoo and one cream rinse - again not replenished during the stay. There is no breakfast, you are handed a small 4X6 inch coffee cake upon arrival and one packet of coffee for each night booked is in the room. The water in the pool was a very nice temperature but the town itself is dumpy with no nice restaurants or shopping. If you want to set by your hotel pool all day and tan the Sagewater may be for you but the are many better options for the price.

We want to thank you for your 5 star rating for cleanliness and service. Our rooms are minimalist and offer the perfect environment for a peaceful experience, we feel that peace and quiet is often a luxury these days.

As a green property, we are conscious of being wasteful. Clean dry towels are not replaced unless requested and our amenities are plentiful as needed. All of this information is clearly stated in our guest rooms.

Your asked for several milk refills, which were quickly replaced, and anything else that you needed would have been happily provided. We provide our services without being intrusive since everyone has a different rest schedule. Our complimentary drink was enjoyed!

Regarding the wi-fi connection, you arrived on a windy day and yes you did need to connect your iPad outside of your room, sorry for the inconvenience, however once established the connection worked. Our prior guest had no problem working on their lap top in the same room just a day before your arrival.

Boutique modern hotels and small towns are not for everyone, gratefully they are perfect for many.

I’ve been going to Sagewater Spa at least twice a year for the past 10 years. I am not an active Trip Advisor reviewer because frankly I wanted to keep Sagewater Spa all to myself. Guests feel as if Sagewater Spa is their own mid-century modern oasis in the desert resplendent with a natural hot mineral water pool. Yes, Sagewater is exactly how we all would do it if we had the time and taste. Sagewater keeps their very high standards for cleanliness, and as a neat freak I appreciate it! The attention to detail, views, other guests, private kitchens in each room and the BBQ make it my go to place to relax and rejuvenate! Cristina and Rhoni are the heart of the place and truly care about their guests. Can't wait to return!

Cristina and I love that you return to Sagewater Spa again and again. It's always fun to catch up
on your latest design projects and golf handicap. We know that our fresh mineral water pool supports both. See you soon!
