“Not a "Spa" or a "Hotel"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014

The front desk people were friendly and helpful, but that is about the extent of the good things about this "hotel." It was NOT clean, the water was lukewarm at best, (the shower curtain even came crashing down multiple times), and the rest of the room was made up of some kind of fake furniture. It was as if they took old pieces from a garage sale and repainted them badly or made them badly. The lighting was bad, and honestly, if I could have switched hotels, I would have.

Palm Springs area is a very interesting clutter of older mid-century style hotels with newer chains. This property seems as if it was an older chain (maybe a Best Western or Motel 6) that has been remodeled and renovated to a more modern experience. The exterior of the building is unassuming and quite frankly, unattractive. If you were to just be driving around and saw this hotel, you'd probably say, ummm no. But, when you go inside, you will be pleasantly surprised. The lobby is very clean, modern and has a very welcoming feel. The staff is a little rough around the edges, not your typical chain-hotel, big smile, professional-looking with a uniform blazer and tie look. Don't panic...they are very accommodating. There is an interesting mix on this property of old vs. new. The lobby, cool and chic. The elevator 1985. The courtyard hallways to your room again, 1985, the interior of the rooms 2014 with upgraded tile and art deco style furnishings. Side panel A/C units (1985) and modern flat screen 32 in TV's. No deadbolt, no swipe style keys, yes 1985 keys to your room on a cheesy maintenance style key chain. I think you catch my drift...The bar is stocked very nicely and the centerpiece of the property, the spa, is wonderful. You will have a very eclectic experience. I enjoyed my 2 night stay, it can be a little loud because of the echo created by the style of the property, but overall, I was pleasantly surprised.

We enjoyed the ambiance and the relative proximity this hotel offered to the tennis tournament in Indian Wells. The cost was half what we would've spent staying closer and it was just a 20 min drive over each day. The room had a bit of a musty smell so we bought a little $2 plug in that solved the problem for our stay. The grounds are beautiful and private and we had no problems with noise. We would return and stay again.

They have 4 rooms that are pet friendly. Clean and efficient rooms with wall a/c that worked very well. Only downside is our room faced the noisy blvd But the view was pretty.Upside nice restaurant that has a bar and serves a decent strawberry smoothie, clean pools and every staff member friendly and helpful.

Exceptional night staff! Had a horrible trip on Delta... Lost bags, had to drive from LA etc. We were sent to Kafe bar by staff before it closed and then treated to Jade massage. We had traveled for 17 hours (should have taken 5 hours) it was a treat especially after our day! Many couples were enjoying the multiple pools.
Room was clean & beds were comfortable. Nice shower! The grounds are beautiful and mineral water spas LOOKED great! We had no luggage so could not enjoy! Did go to breakfast at Kafe Bar which was excellent. Stayed one night! Would've enjoyed 1 more!
From a design perspective.... Ideas in rooms are great however craftsmanship,if better, could elevate entire Spa to a level 5 currently 3.5. Would go there again however!
