“Nice hotel, great city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

I stayed at this hotel while attending a week-long training course at UC Davis. The hotel is very nice, with modern decor and good amenities - generous continental breakfast, free shuttle ride to town (which was great when I didn't feel like walking!), and a nice pool and workout room. The hotel's location was great for walking to campus (about a 15 minute walk for me to walk to the location of my class in the heart of campus). It is also within walking distance of town (15-20 minutes), and there are a lot of restaurants and things to do there. My only complaint was that I wished the hotel was a little closer to town, since I didn't have car that week and the walking really added up!!! (1 mile each way to class, 1 mile each way to town...) Overall, it was a nice place to stay and I'd recommend it! (but if you don't have a car and aren't up to walking A LOT, you might want to pick a hotel that's closer to or in the downtown area)

Room Tip: I got stuck in a first floor handicap accessible room because that was all that was left when I book...

This was a great hotel to stay at. Nearly equidistant to activities in Fairfield and Sacramento, it offered a nice respite from the daily grind. Davis is a very nice town with activities and excellent food options. The only near complaint about the hotel is the train tracks, but they only rarely blow the whistle and it isn't terribly loud. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed there while in town to tour the campus with our son who is looking to attend UC Davis. You cannot beat the proximity to the school (right on site). As Davis is known as one of the bike friendliest towns in the US, it was great that they had bikes available to borrow, first come first served of course. Their breakfast in the morning was well maintained and their food options throughout the day were tasty.

This is a very nice place to stay in Davis, CA. which doesn't have a lot of options and most places are over priced. The Hyatt is actually on campus, the rooms are great as is the complimentary breakfast. Facility is clean, work out room is well appointed, plus they have bikes you can use to cruise around Davis. Rates are a little higher than the local average, but well worth it!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the back of hotel, may be quieter, yet we stayed in front and it was f...

This is a business oriented hotel on the campus of U.C. Davis, within walking distance of the cool restaurants downtown Davis or you can grab one of their old, beat up bikes for a free ride into town. The rooms have all the comforts including a large sofa and a TV that swivels to both sides of the room (the bed on the other). There is a fridge, coffee maker and a nice sized bathroom. The staff were quite friendly but had to multi-task during busy times so you may have to wait to ask a touristy question. There is a nice lounge area, a decent breakfast selection in the morning, and 24 hour coffee or wine / beer available. I wanted to take a swim in their pool but when I saw it was pathetically small decided against it.

Room Tip: My room was quiet and quite far down the hall and around a corner.

The location was key for us because we were attending a wedding right next door on campus. The free breakfast was great with a good variety. There is a pool, but it's kind of small has limited seating or tables.
The only complaint I have is about the curtains in the room. The blackout curtains stop a few inches from the bottom, which is at eye level next to the bed while you're sleeping. It's impossible to sleep in unless you have an eye mask. My husband actually thought I forgot to close the curtains the night before. It's pretty bright when you're trying to sleep in.
There is a pull out couch, which is nice for extra guests or kids.
Free wifi is always nice and convenient.
There is also a free shuttle that can take you anywhere in the area or pick you up. We used this often when hanging out in downtown for meals or when we went to a party in a nearby neighborhood. Very convenient if you are planning on drinking in the evening, and don't want to navigate a car back through campus or downtown.

Stayed here while my daughter attended freshman orientation at UC Davis.
This hotel is conveniently located on the UC Davis campus.
Our standard room was comfortably large with a sitting area , and refrigerator.
The lobby has a quaint dining area and bar. Complimentary breakfast is served daily.

Staff was friendly and helpful
My room was immaculate with ample towels and toiletries.
The hotel provides a first come first served shuttle as well as bike availability.
Rates were reasonable at $169/ nite

This is the perfect hotel for those needing to attend events at UC Davis
