“TOP NOTCH”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

The food, view, and ambiance are second to none. We stayed for 4 nights and could not have had a better experice with a standard ritz (hotel type not reserve) location. The food as it always seems to be was worth the price of addmission. The hotel it self was well appointed with just the right mix of modern and tradtional style. The rooms were well apointed and spacious. I would have to say however the best part of this hotel was the view at sunrise or sun set. It would take your breath away!!! This is a cant miss for a Ritz location.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the ocean you will not be sorry!

We had a coastal view room on the club level. Our view was great, could see the water, surfers and hear the waves at night. The club level was worth the extra price. They were extremely helpful with our off property activities and on property dining. The breakfast was more than adequate each morning. They had food and drinks throughout the day. We arrived at 10pm our first evening, after the restaurants stopped serving and the club level put some food together for us. They even sent down some drinks to our room while we unpacked. We were celebrating our anniversary and they made the entire visit a special celebration for us. Raya was delicious, we had a dinner and brunch there. Service was excellent. We ate in the steak restaurant one evening and has a very nice dinner. It was very small, so be sure to make a reservation. The club level concierge worked hard to be able to get us in on little notice. 180 Blu was great for sunset! Go early because everyone has the same idea. They did hand out blankets for those that got a little chilled. Service was wonderful at the pool and the car attendants were very helpful too.

Room Tip: We had a north facing coastal room with an amazing view. They were out of coastal rooms. This room w...

The bar and appetizers at 180 blue are excellent and you can't beat the view. They have live music and show surfing images on the adjacent wall. Tuesday is Taco night. Just walking through the lobby is an experience. Its beautifully decorated with live flowers and the aroma is wonderful.

We couldn't agree with you more that 180blu is a fantastic outdoor lounge with a magnificent view. We are delighted to know you enjoyed your service experience as much as we enjoyed creating a memory for you.

Concierge Level in Ritz Carlton on the Ocean in Southern CA. It doesn't get much better than this! A wonderful staff made our stay just about perfect. We've been staying in the Laguna Beach area for several years and would recommend this hotel over any other in the area. Excellent views and outstanding service.

Room Tip: The concierge level is outstanding.

Though you better bring some extra money to eat, this hotel is beautiful and has a fantastic view above a surfing area and tide pools. There is a nice walkway down to the beach and a grassy area to watch the sunset above the beach if you'd rather stay up at the hotel. The meeting rooms are comfortable and spacious. Plug ins for laptops and notebooks were provided. The food provided for the meeting was good. Though I didn't get to experience the pool or hot tub, they were large and clean. The landscaping is really lovely. The room was clean, comfortable, and had nice decor. The only thing I did not enjoy was getting 1/4 glass of wine for $16 (there were more expensive) and a mixed drink that was mostly ice for the same price that seemed to have barely any alcohol in it. The mixed drink did taste good, but it took 2 to get anything to drink. I did not try to eat at the dining room. The snack food at the bar was very good, though also quite expensive. Just be ready to pay crazy prices to eat.

Room Tip: My room was on the 4th floor overlooking the pool. It was very quiet and though it wasn't the o...

The view from our coastal-view balcony was absolutely beautiful. Obviously the hotel is aware of the vista as they have a huge flat panel tv behind the check in desk with a live beach-cam.
From the moment we drove up the service was first class. Brian of valet parking arranged to store our luggage including two items that required refrigeration as we arrived before check-in time. He gave us directions to explore the harbor of Dana Point. Matt brought our bags to the our room when it was available and gave us an overview of the resort. Penny, the concierge in the club lounge was always helpful.
The RC Liguna Niguel is obviously a wedding destination as we had the opportunity to watch two during our two day stay. The ocean view from the gym makes the treadmill seem less tedious. Although we did not avail ourselves of the option, the hotel can arrange surfing lessons right on its beach. Fishing and whale watching excursions leave from the Dana Point harbor.
I highly recommend the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel for the traveler seeking a high end relaxing time on the Orange County, CA coast.
