The hotel is located at to the Dana point harbor, access and parking are extremely easy. The rooms are comfortable with sufficient space. The price is very good value for money. The hotel needs to be refurbished, you can see everywhere, especially in the rooms that the hotel needs some fresh painting or some new carpet or tapestry.

The hotel can also be noisy if you room neighbours watch Tv or talk together.

We stayed here with 36 friends while touring the area on motorcycles. Nice accommodations and close to many great restaurants and shops. Nice pool area and breakfast selection. Everyone wants to go back again next year!

Room Tip: Ask for a Harbor view!

Pro(s) and cons for choosing the Marina:

PROS
The location of your establishment fit our needs perfectly.
The pool and hot tub were fun (and unexpected)
The room was in a quiet area and, fortunately for us, the bikers who were in the room next door were not party people.
We enjoyed the in room coffee
The location also gave lots of privacy. See * below
LOTS of restaurants within walking distance

CONS
The location of the microwave was NOT convenient. We wondered (and only know this because someone on the front desk volunteered the information) why the LEAST expensive rooms had microwaves.
No table on the patio
The hours for the "continental breakfast" should be extended by at least 30 minutes on either side.
No comment about the packaged "sweet rolls and muffins".
The bathroom has NO place to put anything like a curling iron or make up
*The room actually looked on to a parking lot with the actual harbor way beyond that, but that was better than being in one which opened on to the pool, which gave NO privacy
The "internet rate" was not really a good rate, but no where on the site does it state, "call for better rates". Again, we learned this by courtesy of one of the night desk clerks.
There are not enough available electrical outlets in the room. The key here is "available"
I was amused at the form of the toothpaste offered at the front desk
The internet availability was terrible. Really. We seemed to be in a "dead zone"
And, lastly, the process of watching TV was not easy. The channels listed in your info book do NOT match up with the channels listed using the remote, and then some of those only brought up a blue screen.

Even though the "cons" outnumber the "pros" we do plan on staying at the Marina Inn again but will come prepared.

Room Tip: Higher floors have more family space. We didn't have "kids" but the ones with other fa...

When we booked our whale watching excursion at Dana Point and the booking agent recommended this hotel so I trusted her recommendation since she said other customers have liked this "nice" hotel. Well it's anything but nice. It's so rundown and I think $98 is too much considering the shape of this place. I feel like $50 would be too much. I wouldn't stay here and wouldn't recommend this place.

I stayed at the hotel that was booked for a wedding. Great price! I opted for no view since we were right there at the harbor. Good choice for me. Would definitely refer others to this hotel! Staff was great and helpful!

Room Tip: breakfast was great for what we needed. Who could ask for more? Lots of activities available if one...

We stayed here one night while we were in town for a wedding. We didn't want to pay the extra money for a view of the harbor since we can easily walk outside and see it so we opted for the cheapest budget room which was on the ground floor. We were in room 105, a king size room. The room was very spacious and very very clean. Bed the is very firm which we like. There is also a small kitchenette in the room. We arrived about an hour and a half before check in and they were still able to accommodate us. The bathtub looks so clean and inviting I wanted to take a bath but the drain stop was broken. I called the front desk and we had a new drain stop within 10 minutes. I was also very happy that there is a small terrace attached to the room. It was cold and raining that day and the heater worked great. The continental breakfast in the morning was fine, but I don't usually eat that sort of stuff. Although I don't think I'll be going back to Dana point anytime soon, if I do I will definitely stay there. comparative the prices for the other hotels in town $98 incl tax for this room was a great bargain.

It was very clean and the staff were exceptional. We had a room with a balcony looking out to the ocean and to our surprise it had a living room and a kitchen sink. It's directly across the street from the beach. I would definitely go again!

Room Tip: Any room is great.
