This is my third or fourth visit to this resort. I have found this resort to be an ideal location for myself as I love jogging and being outside. The beach across the street is not that great however within 5 to 10 minutes you can drive to Dana Point or Laguna which has beautiful beaches or you can drive south to San Clemente 5 minutes, use the beach or the great jogging trail adjacent to the beach. The rooms are actually quite large and comfortable. I have always stayed on the backside of this hotel because of the train on the front side. This was the first time that I was on the beachfront side, however I brought a fan with me and I slept quite well, didn't hear any noise off of PCH or the train. (However I was not sleeping in the living room on the sofa bed which is right by PCH) I am a super light sleeper, but the bed was comfortable in the bedroom, and my fan drowned out the slight noise I would have heard. Although I noticed the resort was quite busy because it was fourth of July week I never heard any doors slamming, I never heard any noise from the hallway, it was very peaceful and quiet when I was in my unit. The timeshare presentation was offered when I checked in, I said no and never heard another thing about it. I love the free bikes and rode a lot across the street or down to the Marina. Lot of things to do within 5-10 minutes! Will definitely return, maybe even this year. All the staff were super helpful and a smile on their face.
