“3rd time around, everything the same....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

It's a beautiful property and staff is generally great.

Here are some things that may help on your next stay...

First off, resort fee is $25 / day, regardless of what you paid for the room...(Cash or points)
IF you are a SPG platinum member, you get $10 off this resort fee per each day, so it comes down to $15 / day.
Internet and spa is included through this $25 resort fee...but at 1.5MB download speed, I can honestly say....REALLY!?

There is no onsite parking except valet parking, which is $35 / day
If you are staying for multiple days, that REALLY adds up quick.
If you are willing to make a small walk, you can drop your party and your luggage, and take your car out of the property and street park on Stonehill Dr for free. (check the map, it's one block over from the hotel)
Neighborhood is pretty safe and I did not worry about my Mercedes parked out there for 3 days during my stay. I'm not the only one out there parked, so...
Make sure not to park on Friday between posted hours during cleaning.

SPG platinums on property receive 10% off all dining & beverage as well as $40 credit breakfast at Motif. We went ahead and ate the breakfast brunch, which is $33 per person, but with the 10% discount and the $40 credit, it came out super cheap.
In any case, the breakfast brunch was on par and it didn't disappoint.

PROS : Beautiful property. Great pools, easy access to the private beach.

CON : Access to beach is via short ride on the tram, but can take a long time when it gets crowded. Restaurants at the Stonetavern and Motif for dinner were disappointing, as in the previous stays. They seem to have trouble with TURF portion of their menu....i.e., filet mignon tasted like ground beef instead of ...well, BEEF. Their fish was great, and I have no complaints there. I just wished they changed up the restaurants on property. It lacks flavor and...taste.

I have been coming here for work over many years. It has remained a lovely property with nice grounds and a great views. The food is good, the service is outstanding, the beds are comfy, the spa is relaxing--what more can I say. While I was there for work, the environment promotes taking things down a notch and relaxing.

Room Tip: Rooms on the third floor over looking the pool are centrally located.

This is an amazing resort that is perfectly located close to shore and shops. This hotel is beautifully furnished and rooms are decorated very well. If you plan on spending most of the time outside your room, then it really isn't necessary to pay extra for the ocean view. We used our room for showers and getting dressed. We spent watching the sunset in the lobby lounge with a cocktail. The hotel has great family programs in the late evening ( butterfly ceremony, smores, bedtime reading.) Pool are clean and the drinks are amazing especially the bloody mary. Wonderful for golfers and spa enthusiasts. You can take the golf carts down to the shore and enjoy the beach. Chairs are provided for you. Don't even think about, just go!!!!

Hotel and grounds are beautiful. Rooms are spacious and every room has a balcony. Hotel is near laguna and Newport Beach. Beds are super comfy with nice bathtubs and shower. Pool is not gigantic but there was plenty of seats when we stayed there. The hotel itself is not on the beach but the views are still amazing. We had a very relaxing stay there. Staff was always friendly and helpful.

We stayed one night at the St Regis before heading back to reality and after our honeymoon in Mexico.

We booked an executive suite which was fantastic. Everything was top-notch.

We had our own butler, Nick, who could not have been more helpful. We even got a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room.

We will definitely be back and stay longer!

Just returned from a four night getaway withy husband. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous!!!!! Everything about it was beautiful, the interior, exterior EVERYTHING! We paid extra for an ocean view king, The view was beautiful and overlooked the golf course and ocean, but I personally think the pool view rooms have a better view of the gorgeous grounds AND ocean. Service was exceptional from valet to front desk to pool attendants, they really go above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience ever! (They even provide organic sunscreen!). I have been to 5++ resorts and hotels in the emirates and this hotel def. tops the list. Be prepared to be treated like royalty :)
