“Over the top beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013 via mobile

Large hotel, beautiful views, great service... You get what you pay for, so it is expensive. Don't care for the $35 valet daily fee.

Property restaurants are top notch as are the menu items. Even a simple burger is insanely good here. Breakfast on the patio was a great way to start the day.

Would definitely come back.

I stayed for two nights at the St Regis Monarch Beach while attending a conference. The hotel is grand, the staff very competent and the rooms large and well appointed with marble bathrooms and a balcony and view. However, I compare every luxury hotel to the Grand Wailea on Maui and the Inn at Spanish Bay. This hotel is just not in the same ball park with these hotels. Most annoying is the lack of a coffee maker in the hotel rooms. You can spend $9 or $13 plus tax and gratuity from room service or walk 1/4 mile to the snack bar in the morning for a cup of coffee. All I want to do is wake up, read the newspaper, and have a cup of coffee. I don't want to pay an unreasonable amount or walk 1/4 mile to get coffee. Another trick played on the guest is the breakfast room service menu does not include prices. You have to dig into the guide in the room to understand how much a cup of coffee costs. Similarly the cost of items in the honor bar are hidden and difficult to find. I won't spend money blindly. It seems this hotel wants to hide costs from guests and surprise you at check-out. Another hidden cost is parking. Valet is $35 per day and self-park is $25. Most guests must self-park. It is near impossible to find the garage and even harder to find an empty space. I would not stay at the hotel again unless attending a conference.

I went to a medical conference at the St Regis Monarch Beach...I didn't stay at the hotel but I toured the grounds and used the salon. It's an absolutely 5 star hotel...gorgeous grounds..stunning pool. The staff is very helpful. The salon is beautiful and everything you would expect from a 5 star property, and the woman who cut my hair (Tracy) was wonderful.

Stayed with my wife and two teenage boys for 5 nights. The property was fine but a bit dated. Neither of the two "ocean view" rooms we stayed in had any view of the ocean from the room--you could see the water only from small areas of the balcony. One day, our room was not cleaned until after 5 pm and only then after repeated calls and promises to send someone up. Management was very apologetic and our overall experience was fine. But this property was certainly not up to what we expect from a St. Regis.

This hotel experience was absolutely outstanding. It really can't get better than the St. Regis Monarch Beach. The service was impeccable with every interaction we had with a member of the St. Regis staff. The check in process was easy and the people at the front desk were incredibly polite and gracious. The room was in great condition and very luxe in every sense. The food was really superb and the Sunday Brunch was the best that we've ever had-it was that good. The pool was well heated. The fitness center was great. This hotel had it all- everything was 100% great with not of negative feedback on anything. If you like ultra luxury hotels, you've got to try this hotel.

Room Tip: You definitely want an ocean view.

This is by far the nicest hotel I have had the pleasure of staying at. Service is outstanding, room was very nice - enough room, comfortable bed, and all the fixtures and furniture was high quality.
I cannot say enough good things about it.

Room Tip: I was in Room 675- overlooking courtyard and ocean. Great for sunsets!
