I stayed in HGI for 5 days in November last yea and have stayed there several times previously.

It is at a convenient location near Cupertino Village with many restaurants so food is easily accessible.

Parking is plentiful and free.

Rooms are clean although a little too dim for my liking. Furnishings seem a little dated but I guess this is the norm for business hotels.

Front desk is also helpful, helping me to pass on my package which arrived after I checked out to my colleague.

All in all, it was a pleasant experience which also explains why I have been a repeat guest.

Great central location for the San Francisco area if you are wanting to see all around the Bay Area. Within a block of an East Asian market with plenty of restaurants, bakery and even a Starbucks. Apple world headquarters is just a 5 minute drive and their employee store is open to the public. So if you want things you can't buy anywhere else like t-shirts, hats, binders etc. go there.
If you want to spa at the hotel it's out of commission as its being redone and the pool isn't heated. Although its a nice hotel they keep the hallways so cold you almost see your breathe. The front staff I found was indifferent at best.

I was on a visit to Sunnyvale and stayed at the garden inn for a night. $99 plus tax for a standard guest room. the bed is very comfortable. The entire hotel is beautifully designed. It came with a fitness room and pool. Great breakfast and excellent service. will come back if I visit Sunnyvale again

HGI Cupertino is my go-to South Bay hotel for good reason: the price is cheap, location is great, and the service excellent.

It's nice that there's free parking and free Internet included in the rate, but what does it for me is the hotel is right by Interstate 280 so I can pretty much get wherever I want to go with ease. And I must say it's nice that a toothbrush and toothpaste are available free at the front desk unlike many other hotels in the same category.

Finally, breakfast is pretty good as well. It's no countertop greaseball diner, but it's in the property and tastes great! And free if you're HHonors Gold or Diamond, which I get to take advantage of every time!
