“Needs to improve”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014 via mobile

We arrive Saturday night at 6:00 for dinner. The decor is attractive and the tables are well spaced. The food is good but the service is poor.

The dining room is almost empty. When the waiter explains the specials, including the happy hour drinks, I can barely understand his Italian accent. He takes our orders without pen or paper. When the order arrives, instead of the fish she ordered, she receives salmon. The waiter strangely offers to add grated cheese to her salmon. After 10 minutes, the waiter refills my empty water glass. After the meal, it takes 10 minutes to get the waiter's attention to ask for the check. The hostess explains that they prefer that guests pay in cash! We are disappointed and don't plan to return.

“Great food but rushed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

Four of use served a table for 7.30 on a Saturday night. The place was quietly humming with about half the tables taken. The staff were friendly and quick to serve us, bringing the menu etc. we decided to order 3 starters as one of our party was feeling a bit under the weather.

The stuffed zucchini flowers were good, stuffed, fried and shed with a tasty sauce. The ham and Gorgonzola on toast was good as was the tuna and red chicory. The starters came without us having to wait long - which is always good but then before they were cleared away our mains arrived. A pause for conversation would have been nice! My husband had surprisingly the pink gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce which we tried and pronounced rich and creamy. My son in law was very happy with his mussels in white wine and daughter tucked into her grilled vegetables. I definitely hit the jackpot with the papperdellel and duck ragu. It was rich, intensely flavoured and quite delicious. The food was good, and the prices were fine (allow $25 per person) but the wine list is expensive, be warned!

As soon as we had finished we were asked if we would like deserts. We said we were too full, but instead of being offered coffee, our check arrived! The restaurant wasn't busy so it wasn't as if they needed our table. So to summarise, the food is great and worth the trip, the ambience, decor is nice and quite smoochy, but the staff while chatty and efficient, made us feel hurried. We were home by 9pm!
