“Vintage Goldrush”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

Picked up our rented motorcycle and was given a head's up on this little town. Beware! For $5 you can get 'arrested', handcuffed and placed in the jail wagon for any offense! ( you can buy your way out at $1 a minute) They also staged a gunfight... the participants were terrific! Lots of 'shoot em up" activity. We looked over the hotel while our meal was being prepared. Our group of three ordered hamburgers and BBQ with fries, all very fresh and tasty. Give yourself a couple of hours to eat and tour the town.

“A Great Place to Stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

We frequently go to Coulterville just to eat at the Magnolia. All the items are great and reasonably priced, but the pizza is amazing! A small ("personal") pizza is enough for two normal people, and a large will feed a crowd. Both are priced to compete with anybody's factory pizzas.
The Alfredo, with or without chicken is fresh and delightful.
Be sure to chat with the owner or the help, you'll find out what's happening in the area, and some interesting history of the Saloon and Hotel.

“Good food and a fun place to visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

We got pizza which was yummy and shared a beer on draft. The saloon is unique with a lot of stuff displayed of old days gone by. The people were very friendly and the bar tender was most helpful

“More than a genuine goldrush-era saloon, it's a living museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

We stopped totally randomly in Coulterville on our way back from Yosemite National Park. This Gold Rush town on highway 49 is a hidden nugget, with old hotels, shops, an old mine locomotive and... the Magnolia Saloon!
We just had a drink there and it was like going back to the 1850s. The bartender was very friendly and we walked around the saloon looking at all the old black and white pictures and the artifacts in the displays.
The best was to sit at the old bar counter and feel like we were in a John Ford western.
A stop one must take on highway 49, north of Mariposa.
