“SOOO expensive, and why?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

We came in during Happy Hour. The waitress was flustered, unsure of herself, and brand new. Asked what the house red wine was, she said they did not have a house red wine (note the advertised special prices at Happy Hour of house wines!?!). Ordered something to eat from the Happy Hour menu, and wouldn't you know it, they didn't have that either! Dinner was fine, no complaints. Music very loud. Don't understand the high prices considering the service, décor, location and ambiance were nothing special.

“Great sushi but fairly small portions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2012

I have eaten at Zipangu 3-4 times over the years, most often when our favorite place nearby is too crowded. We sat at the sushi bar and had omakase. The chef was very friendly and eager to show off his skills. Everything was delicious but I only gave 4 stars due to the smallish portions compared with other sushi restaurants in the area. All in all, I recommend Zipangu highly, but probably not as a first choice.

“great value at lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2009

I have only been to Zipangu for lunch but we love the lunch combinations. They are innovative (not just the standard chicken teriyaki) and delicious. The prices are great - one of the combinations was $9.98 and the daily bento box was $15. The service is quick and food delicious.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2009

The food here was divine. For cold tapas, we ordered Kobe Beef Carpaccio (which melts in your mouth) and the Jalepeno Yellowtail. We also had Agedashi Tofu, grilled Hama cheek, Miso Cod, and different arrays of sushi rolls. I was quite impressed with the freshness of the food. Service was also great.
