“Not very accommodating ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2014

Being a Hilton honors member for year there are simple things you ask for and expect. Have little expectations if your staying here. The hotel is beautiful the beds comfy. My husband lived the pillows. The tv had no picture just a blank screen with sound. The shower flooded the bathroom every time we used it. Better shower curtains would help. The cleaning lady left her cleaning supply's in our room. The room is big so we just left them. Asking for a 30 minute late check out we were told not possible. 30 minutes really ! I could understand multiple hour late checkout but 30 minutes?

The Hilton has recently had a much needed face lift. Although the elevators have not changed, it still adds a unique quality to the decor. The natural earth-tone color pallet, thoughtful art distributed throughout the hotel, and welcoming registration desk does offer a sense of, "I've arrived", and relaxation. Starbucks, restaurant, lounge and business area are all in cell-phones throw of the registration desk; perfect to grab a drink, snack, or print your boarding pass or check e-mails before your next destination. The rooms are clean and comfortable. My two favorite features! The goose-down pillows are soft and beds firm. The bathrooms are conducive to the hotel décor, and the waterfall shower head is nice added feature. The marble sinks in and outside the bathroom was a welcomed sight for privacy. I was surprised to see that you receive a nice robe but nowhere to hang it. Hopefully that will change the next time I visit. The hotel has an Executive Lounge which is not open to the public and offers comfortable seating, TV’s, and serves a complimentary breakfast, snacks, and beverages. If you’re a Hilton Honors member, you can request an upgrade to that level (but based on availability). The hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to the airport and South Coast Plaza. Hotel charges $23 for self-parking, and $31 for valet per/day with in/out privileges. The Executive Chef offers creative and flavorful dishes pleasing to the eyes and pallet.

Room Tip: Expect rates midweek to be higher than on the weekends. When booking group housing request upgrades...

Dear Arrowhead Conference,

Thank you for the 5 STAR review. You narrated and described our hotel beautifully and precise. The decor updated and represents the "Essence of California" .Our Tech Lounge is conveniently located in our lobby close to Bristol Brew for a coffee or pastry in the morning and our Bristol Palms Restaurant, Lounge and Bar for the afternoon snack or beverage for the break you need by then. We are happy to have been a part of making your stay 5 STAR.

This place just screams 1980’s, from the glass elevators to the funky shapes that make up the building. Sure much has changed since then, but for this hotel...not so much. Hilton has redone and improved on the convention center, bit the rooms leave a bit to be desired; they are clean but very well warn.

Positives - Starbucks coffee, located in Orange County CA....I’m stretching here folks

Negatives - Our of 3 stays only once did the TV work, Poor Wi-Fi on the lower levels, very little hot water reserves etc.

Room Tip: If your booking on the Hilton Honors program you can get a room on the executive floor for around $1...

Dear brimil,

Our hotel does incorporate the Essence of California in all our decor; from the mission influence with the wooden decanters and bowls displayed to the modern Hollywood style in our Tech Lounge and the glass poppies hanging in the lobby . The beautiful mosaic poppy design in our lobby represents the State flower and was specifically designed for our hotel this year. A beautiful blend is represented in our guest rooms and throughout the hotel. The Lobby also offers Starbucks's coffee in our Bristol Brew and home made granola parfaits are delicious and healthy too.

Best regards,

Yolanda H.

This Hilton in Orange County was very clean, the price was right, and the shuttle service excellent. I did not need to rent a car or take a taxi to or from the airport. The service was also helpful for nearby restaurants.

Dear Kelly B.,

Delighted to see your 5 STAR experience with all service aspects of our fabulous hotel. Being close to South Coast Plaza certainly gives our guests some great dining choices. Anatello or Maggiano's for Italian, Scott's for Seafood, or Capital Grill for the business luncheon.

Best regards,

I'm usually not a big fan of Hilton, but I was really impressed with this hotel. The king room was laid out well. Very comfortable bed with four king down pillows for a great night's sleep. All staff were extremely courteous and went out of their way to accommodate. The property is maintained very well. Room service was very prompt every time and the quality of food was impressive. One of the Country's largest shopping mall, the South Coast Plaza is a short walk, or the hotel offers a frequent shuttle. A great stay!

Dear malibubrat,

We love to hear the positive and about our guests having a great experience. The staff and I are delighted to hear you were pleasantly surprised with our quality and service and that we exceeded in every way. To add to the experience next time take a tour of the harbor and see the dolphins play and the magnificent blue whales ; you can do a dinner cruise. Have a business lunch or dinner at any of the ocean front restaurants such as Ocean 21 or Rusty Pelican, both have great views of the harbor with great atmosphere and delicious food.

This hotel is a great location for conference and other business meetings. The staff are great and the food (for those familiar with conference food) was quite good. The service staff for the conference lunch were accommodating to my dietary needs (Vegetarian) and the check in and out process was easy and fast.

Dear Desiree C.

Glad to hear your conference went well and that all the staff were a part of making the conference great. Newport Beach and Balboa Island is a great place to go before the summer ends with boat rental, kids zone and ice cream all making the weekend a great experience to remember.

Hotel is great, they have nice and helpful staff. Rooms are very spacious and clean, bed is comfortable and bathroom is ok. Nothing that would make me drop my jaw, but a hilton standard, which is measured with an overall satisfaction. Food is really delicious, I liked the breakfast choice and dinner was very nice too. Just one thing that caught my attention in a very positive light ( cause I always seek for an extraordinary things in hotels which are lifting the standards) are the lifts, which were made of glass, so you could see the whole lobby. With all the lights it is very beautiful especially in the evening.
Otherwise the hotel provides a shuttle to the nearby mall (every 2hours). There is not much to do around the hotel area, which is a little disappointing. However, the concierge is helpful, but seriously they didn't have a normal map of the city attractions or just downtown, or LA. Just a magazine where to go with very, very general maps, which makes it for visitors very complicated, because LA is a great city, but since the hotel is far away, you have to rent a car to explore what LA offers (which is strongly recommend) or book some tour. However, a map of attractions, or just list of things to do in LA would be awesome, I m sure visitors will appreciate it soo much.

Dear misii_mis,

Our location is ideal if you are looking forward to going to Newport Beach, Balboa Island or Segerstrom Center of the Arts. We are also close to Anaheim and a short drive to Knott's Berry Farm or Disneyland . SNA ( John Wayne Airport) is so close and with the complimentary shuttle service makes this an ideal location. Our bell staff are always delighted to print any area information and reserve Enterprise rental car or taxi service throughout your stay.
