“Great find for classic cocktails and nibbles”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

We wanted a proper pre-dinner cocktail and a comfy classic vibe and found it here! The bartenders are friendly and professional and are true mixologists. We'll be back.

“Great restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

As usual with Capital Grille, the food and atmosphere are perfect. The location in the South Coast Plaza mall makes it a great place to eat after (or before...) shopping.

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

A friend and I only lunched at the Capital Grille, but it couldn't have been better. The atmosphere reminded me of restaurants back in the day, elegant with leather booths and warm wood, kinda "old boys club", when everyone used to have a couple of martinis with lunch. Anyway , we had the lunch plates which started with butternut squash bisque, to die for, I had sea scallops and a side of parmesan truffle fries, just yummy. My friend had blanca pizza, which wasn't that impressive, but then why would it be, in my mind pizza is pizza is pizza!! Service was great and dessert was fabulous. Highly recommend this restaurant, and can't wait to go back for dinner.

“Great Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

Service was great. Enjoyed the Delmonico steak. The flavor from the marinade is very tasty. First had this in the Capital Grille in Vegas. Glad to see that the consistency from location to location. I like this place better than Mortons now.
The location was a bit of a pain to get to in South Coast Plaza but we used the valet parking. Also had the lobster mac as a side which was great. Everything made for good leftovers.

“Wonderful, non-snooty service and fabulous food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

We live in San Diego and drove over 70 miles, each way, to meet family for a b-day celebration. I am not usually a big fan of hoyty-toyty restaurants where the wait staff tends to have lots of attitude and no service skills. Well! Let me set the record straight...that is NOT the case at this upscale Orange County restaurant.

The mood is instantly set when you enter the 'clubby' atmosphere and can either be swept to the 2nd floor in the elevator or ascend up the stairs (picture making your grand entrance!).

We had about 30 minutes while we waited for the rest of our group to arrive, so we sat in the bar and had cocktails. The waitress was so sweet and just could not have been nicer! I casually mentioned that I was starving but we couldn't order appetizers, since we had to wait on our friends. She had a large basket of bread and the world's best butter, brought to our bar table. That helped keep the strong appletini at bay!

Dinner was simply wonderful! Rob was our waiter and simply put, he could not have been better! One of the best waiters but like the rest of the Cap. Grille team, no attitude! Everyone had different types of steak/beef and everyone said that it was the best cut of meat, they had ever had. The french onion soup (do NOT order the bowl as it is HUGE! HUGE! HUGE!...cup is plenty!!) was very good and not too salty. The calamari was unique and wonderful... And yes, my hubbie is still day dreaming about the lobster mac n cheese! He said that if he would have unexpectdly croaked and fell face first into that mac n cheese, he would have died a happy guy! (and no, I am not making that up!!).

Dessert was fabulous, too! We had the flourless cake and a cheesecake. Both were wonderful and truly unique!

Capital Grille is doing everything right! Great service! Great Food! Is it cheap? NOPE! But, if you're in Orange County, have $100-$200 extra money to spend on a dinner for two, then get into Capital Grille and be ready to have a fabulous experience.
