“The most excellent service I've received in a long time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2011

I stayed two nights at the Best Western in Corte Madera for my birthday this past weekend, particularly because they have an outdoor swimming pool. But it turned out the most remarkable thing about this place is the exceptional quality of service I received. From the first phone call to the final checkout, EVERY staff person I interacted with was friendly, attentive and successful in giving me everything I asked for and more. I only recall the first person's name (Frankie), but everyone at the front desk, the pool attendant and the maintenance crew were very helpful, going the extra mile in a prompt, professional and effective manner. THANK YOU!

Three families stayed here for 4 nights. We chose this hotel because of it's out of the way location. We did not want to pay up to $50 a night to park a car in San Francisco and a breakfast bowl was included in the cost. We were not disappointed. Corte Madera is a lovely area. Plenty of shops and a supermarket on your doorstep. The swimming pool was brillant. We went to the restaurant next door called Max's but would not recommend it, it was over priced and food was just not up to standard for breakfast or dinner. The suite was a good size and beds were very comfortable.

Stayed for three nights here and found it close enough to San Francisco for us. We took advantage of the free shuttle service the hotel offers to the ferry terminal to do the trip to Fisherman's Wharf, cable cars and Chinatown with out the hassle of parking in the city. The rooms are comfortable the only down side is it is close to the highway but the noise was not to much of an issue. The restaurant within the grounds has a huge menu to choose from to suit every taste.

Highly recommended, especially if traveling with family. This motor hotel, close to HW101 entrance/exits is quiet, safe, close to good shopping/restaurants, and is professionally staffed. Reasonable rates included morning breakfast and paper delivered to your door each morning at the time of your choice. We look forward to our next stay.

If you stay here you need to realise that it is quite far from San Francisco and the ferry for 2 adults and 2 kids was expensive at $50. The distance would have been ok if it hadn't been for the dirty and smelly room we were given. It smelt of damp and the sheets had large yellow stains on them. The carpet was slightly damp. Some of the staff, although friendly, were unable to converse in English, so were not too helpful. All in all, this was not what we expect of a Best Western so we checked out after one night.

We want to take this opportunity to extend our sincere apologies to these guests. Our Inn is actually only seven miles from the Golden Gate Bridge and many of our guests do appreciate the complimentary shuttle service we offer to and from the Larkspur Ferry which is only one mile from the hotel. Staying in Marin and traveling by Ferry to San Francisco allows families a great sightseeing adventure in addition to avoiding the traffic and bridge toll.

Many of our guests also tell us that they enjoy staying in southern Marin County as it is centrally located to San Francisco, Muir Woods, beaches and the wine country. Although it is true that many of our housekeeping staff speak limited English, all of our reception staff speaks fluent English and many are multilingual. Bill Blackburn, General Manager

Best Western is like home away from home from the spacious lobby with fireplace, Wi Fi,, great heated pool and the most comfortable king sized bed. It is close to the interstante and very nice waitstaff. Ask for a free paper, coffee and breakfast basket and enjoy the hominess of the patios. I love the rooms tht have books too when I travel alone.

My husband had to attend a training at another Corte Madera hotel and originally booked a room at that venue. Since I was accompanying him on the trip and it was for four nights, I took it upon myself to research the accommodations in advance. After reading Trip Advisor reviews of the available hotels in the area, I asked him to move our reservation to the Best Western Corte Madera Inn instead. We were glad we did. This hotel was very nice in just about every way. The rooms were very clean and pleasant; the beds really comfortable. The grounds were very lovely, with expansive lawn and lots of big trees. Lawn chairs and hammocks, scattered strategically around the area, created a very inviting, almost resort-like atmosphere. The pool was wonderful - huge, perfect temperature, crystal clear, not overly chlorinated, absolutely refreshing. The workout room was small but adequately equipped and well maintained. Unlike many hotel gyms which are generally tucked away in windowless back rooms this one, located near the pool right in the middle of the lovely courtyard, featured numerous windows and skylights which made it a delightful place to work out. A simple continental breakfast of yogurt, fresh fruit, muffin, juice and coffee, was delivered to our room in a basket at the time of our choice each morning. I enjoyed not having to get dressed and go out in public for breakfast, but instead treated myself to breakfast in bed or out on my balcony each day! Free internet connection was good. Hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating. Other reviewers have commented that the walls were thin and also about noise from the nearby freeway. The freeway noise was only really evident to us during peak rush hour times, and only once were we disturbed by noise from another room. Both situations were quickly remedied by turning on the fan in the A/C unit which made enough white noise to eliminate those distractions. The hotel was within easy walking distance to a lovely mall that featured numerous shops and restaurants. We had no need to use our car during the whole time we were there. Comparing our experience with that of my husband's colleagues who stayed at the other hotel, we felt certain that we had chosen wisely. In fact, we have decided that whenever we go back to the Bay area we will choose to stay here again. Rather than fight the traffic and pay the high room rates in San Francisco proper, it makes better sense to stay at this comfortable, reasonably priced hotel and take the ferry into Frisco for day trip excursions. The hotel even provides a free shuttle to and from the ferry so it makes that option very convenient.
