“Must Do when staying in Coronado”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Wonderful old time diner. Excellent food. We had the home made sausage - spicy! Coffee was excellent. Antiques abound including the old time cash register still being used!

“Counter service at it's best - the coffee cup is always filled”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

Clayton's is the hidden gem of a diner in Coronado. You can play the old tunes, two for a quarter, on the jukebox. Breakfast cuisine at it's best. Experience it, you won't be disappointed!

“Quaint diner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

A place where a local recommended for a quick bite to eat. A cute little diner on Orange St. with the old diner decor and menu...from malts to burgers. Wednesdays is 5 cent coffee for military. So many young military men in and out for a cup of brew. I had a burger with fried onions, swiss on sour dough. I skipped the fries and had cole slaw instead. All was tasty and hit the spot for this tired tourist. Service was kind and friendly.

“charming homestyle cooking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

We enjoyed this retro styled coffee shop and stopped a few times to eat breakfast or lunch. The menu offers a lot of choices and there are lovely-looking pies (under glass) on the counter. My husband ordered a hot turkey sandwich and there was so much food on the plate he couldn't finish it. Prices are very reasonable. Waitresses are busy but friendly. Sit at the counter and make a new friend. Sometimes there is a line-up outside to get in. It is worth a short wait.

“Affordable & delightful gem!”

Yummy breakfast topped only by warm & friendly counter service, compliments of Chelsea. Ask her about Conor & watch her sparkle like a diamond in the sun.
