“Customer Service A++++”

I would definately recommend the Loews Coronado Beach Resort to anyone. Everything was wonderful. The lobby was beautiful, the rooms were nice and roomy. The pool area was fantastic with the most comfortable lounge chairs ever. The best thing about the resort was the staff. They were so friendly and accommodated us with anything we asked for. The food by the pool was great! The $2 taco Tuesday was our favorite. The beach shuttle was so convenient and the free towels, boogie boards, chairs and umbrellas made it so nice. We will definately be back!!

We stayed here in May 2013. Beautiful resort, great pools. Food ok, little over priced. Service at the restaurant was very slow, we had to search for a waiter. I don't mind paying resort prices, bur food and service needs to be good. We had a car so we drove into town for most of our meals. Resort is 8 min from downtown Coronado, not much around the resort. But the resort has lots to do, kayak, tennis courts, basketball courts and pools with plenty of lounge chairs. San Diego is only 15 min over the bridge. In the general area of Coronado and San Diego there is so much to do. Our 2queen bed room was clean, but small. We did have a balcony, so this made up for the small room. The ocean views were amazing.

When one thinks of Coronado, one automatically thinks of the Del, which is wonderful and right in the heart of downtown Coronado, but Loews is a close second. It's about 5 miles away from downtown Coronado, and to get to the beach there is a shuttle that takes you under the road.
Rooms are spacious, pool area is very nice, tennis courts and restaurants are good, too, but the service was outstanding. From the front desk to the kids that manned the beach chairs and towels, the service was A+. Housekeeping/maintenance could've been better. Our bathroom had a very slow sink drain and there was hair in the tub when we checked in. The toilet seat was wobbly and when I moved the magazines on the dresser there was a ring of dust (like they dusted around things without moving them) and two of our lights were unplugged, which is not a big deal, but just a pain to move the night stands to plug them in. On two occasions housekeeping walked in without knocking. I wish I could remember the room number because I think it is the ONLY room without a balcony! It was in building 5 on the second floor. It had a partial ocean view, but every other room, from what I could tell, had a balcony but ours. Jet skis and boats are rented at their dock which is very convenient. It's self contained so if you're happy staying on the property, it is great.

What an infuriating place! From the piped musak in the public areas, to the ghastly clientele( not the hotel's fault), to the less than clean rooms.
It is just not good enough to trade on your swimming pools and fire pits and neglect the house-keeping. I expect clean rooms in ANY hotel and when it is quite apparent that your "deluxe" room has thick skirting board dust, stained carpets and a plastic bath which has an distinctive tide mark round it day after day, then ..something is very wrong. I certainly do not blame chambermaids who are obviously paid a pittance- I blame management.
The beds are lumpy, the linen inferior and sheets were obviously steam-ironed to save on laundry costs. Inferior mattress protectors completed the picture.
This place is an expensive ghetto surrounded by water. Yes, lots to do, sure, but, at the end of every day, one expects a good rest in a clean room and we didn't get it here. One can do so much better in Coronado. Stay elsewhere.
PS. I didn't complain- i simply won 't be back.

My wife and I celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary at Loews Coronado Bay Resort. I would just like to say, "Thank you, Steven and Kerry!" Steven checked us in and through our brief encounter discovered that it was our anniversary and found us a beautiful room. We had a great view of the water and enjoyed a quick snack and refreshments on our balcony while we waited for our spa appointment. While we waited my wife and I decided that we wanted to try Peohe's for our anniversary dinner. We had never had a meal there and called Kerry at the concierge desk. I asked her if it would be possible to make reservations at that late in the afternoon. She said that she would love to do that for us and asked if we were celebrating anything special. Needless to say, when we arrived at the restaurant we received the VIP treatment. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Loews Coronado and would recommend that everyone stay there. If Steven and Kerry represent the level of customer service at Loews Coronado you cannot go wrong. Thank you for making our anniversary a special one!

Having never visited San Diego before, I was torn on what part of town to stay in.
Settled on Loews Coronado.
10 min or less drive to downtown San Diego, near ocean and bay, and you have quaint Coronado as a bonus.
The resort was spotless. Room was modern and spotless. Lobby is as pictured-luxurious.
The shuttle to the beach was a pleasant surprise. They have 2 six seater golf carts, so the wait was never an issue. At the beach they have free towels, beach chairs and body boards. Umbrellas and other things are available for rent.
The pool was not too crowded, and was large.
Even impressed with the gift shop-prices were actually reasonable which is rare for a resort.
The only negative would be the parking deck. It is poorly designed with way too many posts, making it extremely tight which made it a challenge to park a rented minivan. There is very little parking for self parkers, so maybe paying extra for valet would be worth it.

Ended our California vacation here. Wish we had stayed longer. Had a wonderful time. Hotel was beautiful. Hotel staff was beyond friendly. Rooms were lovely! The pool area is a great place to hang out! We especially loved the lounge area with the sectionals and ping pong tables! Great way to spend an afternoon! Nice pool menu for drinks and food! A little pricey, but you expect that for pool side service. The shuttle back and forth to town is great also!
