We just returned October 24th from a conference that my husband attended. We have found that when you go to a conference it is best to stay in the resort for convenience sake. I don't usually give a less than par rating because I am a kind of a go with the flow type of person, but this resort needs just a bit more work. Our rooms were outdated, though large. we did have a great view of the bay, so we slept with our slider open and enjoyed the sounds of the barges, and boats at night-not too many, and without the door open you didn't hear them. The carpet in the halls needs to be replaced, and elevators, just dirty and that is your first impression.

They did just finish the lobby makeover and it was very nice. We had a rental car so the far distance from town wasn't a problem but without one it would have been hard. The shuttle they have is a minivan, and only will hold 7, and you need to make reservations for it, it does not run continuously, and if it is full, or your meal goes a bit longer you are out of luck.They could upgrade that to a bigger van, or more trips than once a hour, but that means you could leave the resort and their $20 burger lunches if you wanted to....

We stayed at the Del last summer, right on the beach and it is so worth the extra $. The location alone saved us the cost of the room if we wanted to just grab a subway sandwich instead of a real meal.

The pool is a bit small, but the service was always good. I can't say we would choose this for a vacation but for the conference it was fine.

The Loew's Coronado was the site of a small (30) conference, and we couldn't have asked for better service, food, rooms and accommodating by the management and staff! Great places to walk with a marina, close to ocean, sitting on the bay...shuttles available to downtown Coronado. Very updated; parking easy, convenient. Top notch in every category. Recently rennovated as well. We're back this year for our second annual....

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The resort is beautiful...we had a room with a balcony over looking the bay and the evening lights of the San Diego skyline. It was great. The linens were clean and upscale, the mattress was very comfortable, but the thing that amazed us the most about our stay was the friendly and upbeat customer service. Everyone had a smile and were, as it seemed, just waiting for the opportunity to serve us. Coronado Bay Resort was the perfect place to celebrate or 34th wedding anniversary.

We stayed at Lowes Cornado for two nights during memorial week in 2012. At the time we got a great price because the resort was undergoing renovations. We traveled with our toddler and they provided a portable crib (not a pack n play like other Hotels provide) which was really comfy for our baby especially since it included a matching sheet and comforter set. The grounds are absolutely beautiful!!! and very fitting for the beauty of Coronado itself. The rooms are nicely decorated. The bathroom seems like its out of a decorating magazine with a separate whirlpool and shower (watch out- the marble floors are slippery). In order to really enjoy the out door grounds I wouldn't recommend not staying in May being that the weather is still very cool (average high temps of low 70 degrees which really is to cold for the beach and just ok for the beautiful pool/jacuzzi even for this NYC blood...lol). The Hotel has several buildings which are interconnected but have individual underground parking and individual elevators. The staff was very attentive. Cons are: parking is expensive and they take advantage of the fact being that you really do need a car to get around because the area is isolated from the town. Also, there really isn't any outside parking areas around the resort. The fridge (or cooler) is packed with drinks and snacks which they charge extra if you use them but because it's packed it didn't leave much room to place milk for our toddler. Lastly, the charge for bottled water in the room is very expensive and I wish that certain things like drinking water would be complimentary for the price of the room (other hotels do this!). We recommend sightseeing the town; we ourselves went to the historical Hotel del Coronado and ate breakfast at nearby "Clayton's Coffee Shop" on Orange Avenue which was delicious...also take a drive to Old Town San Diego they have great Mexican Restaurants (Casa Guadalajara- http://www.casaguadalajara.com which has fresh handmade tortillas and delicious meals accompanied with great decor and Mariachis), Seaport Village shopping, Balboa Park is a gorgeous picture site, San Diego Zoo, Las Americas Premium Outlets (right by the USA-Mexican border) or Sea World...so many things to do around the resort but if you just want to relax this resort is beautiful and the place to do it.
