“A Gem in Coronado”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

This is a fantastic property with so much to offer: easy walk to the beach and they have towels and chairs for you to borrow, right across from the Hotel Del Coronado, walking distance to all the great shops, restaurants, and nightlife on Orange Avenue... I stayed here for four days with a friend celebrating our birthdays (and the manager had a bottle of wine waiting for us in our room as a celebratory welcome!) We had a great time. Our contemporary room was nicely decorated, with great little touches, such as a makeup mirror on the vanity so you could use it where you needed it, not attached to the wall. Breakfast was ah-mazing!!! So much variety and so many options, including soy milk for my dairy allergic friend. Sometimes continental breakfast means stale cornflakes and yesterday's doughnuts - not so at the GBI. Lemonade and cookies in the afternoon was a neat treat. My bed was fabulously comfy, which doesn't always happen. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and made us feel truly welcome and valued as a guest. I will never stay anywhere else on Coronado, unless (heaven forbid), the GBI shuts down. Don't hesitate, book it and enjoy your stay at a glorious, intimate boutique hotel in a great location. If I could give it 6 stars, I would!

Glorietta Bay is a boutique hotel with a great location, celebrating 100 years on Coronado, The hotel has been impeccably maintained. Although our room was small and its furnishings somewhat dated, the bedding was superlative, as were the towels and toiletries. We enjoyed the bonus of the complimentary continental breakfast on the patio before our departure. It was a great stay!

Spent 4 days here and loved it. The location is great ( 2 blocks from the beach), the staff is really nice and friendly, has a nice simple breakfast, really clean and from our balcony you had a nice view. The bathroom was a little small but the room was nice and clean. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a great stay!

I had high expectations based upon the reviews and I was not disappointed! Staff were professional, friendly, and helpful. Although the hotel has lots of character its well kept and functional. Normally when we go to beach destinations we stay at beach front properties but the walk from here wasn't bad. My family and I all loved the breakfast which had a lot of different options and was continuously refreshed. My favorite was the automatic pancake maker ;)

Although they do have umbrellas, chairs, and boogey boards we weren't able to get an umbrella the entire time we were there so don't bank on getting one. Parking was tight but we had a sport every day and night during a busy time of the season.

We have a time share at The Coronado Beach Resort, that we have thoroughly enjoyed the last 3 yrs. This year we did not have access to it, so we decided to book a 3 night stay at the Glorietta Inn which is right next door. We stayed in the Garden Suite, which used to be the Butler's quarters for the Spreckel's family mansion. It was very nice! The Staff was very kind and friendly and seemed to go out of their way to make sure we were happy. The location is terrific...basically across the street from The Del Coronado, close to shopping and restaurants, and parking was convenient and relatively inexpensive. There is also a small pool and spa if you don't want to make a short walk to the beach. The Inn also offers chairs and towels to take to the beach. We would definitely stay here again. It's clean, convenient, friendly, and very pleasant. What's not to like?

Let me start by saying that the staff here is great. They were so nice and went out of their way to help. It's walking distance to many things on the island. Room was spacious enough but bathroom was small- could barely fit to shut the door and use the toilet! Shower pressure was poor and rooms were a little tired looking. There was toothpaste on the granite backsplash when we arrived and the bed wasn't the most comfortable. Overall, it was a good experience and I'd stay here again. I realize that Coronado is expensive, but just felt like I had expected a little nicer room for the price.

This hotel sits in the shadow of the Hotel Coronado (pretty much everything does here). This place is a good alternative if you want to be in Coronado and you do t want to pay the hefty fare of the Hotel Coronado.
There is a small pool here and I mean small. For $10 you can use a decent gym around the corner. Considering Resort Fees often are $25 the $10 isn't so bad. Continental Breakfast is good enough to get you past your first meal. The rooms are smallish and most if not all seem to have balconies. The staff is friendly and tries to help. You can also get beach chairs, umbrella and I think boogie boards for free at the front desk. It's also easily walkable to the beach and restaurants. Overall a good value in an expensive part of town.
