On a walking visit to Coronado for the day, my route went by this restaurant. It was pleasantly full with what looked like locals. The lunch menu was displayed on a small table out front. After walking to the Coronado Hotel, this place still held my interest, so I walked back for a late lunch. The staff greeted and seated promptly. There were places to eat both inside and out, with overhead heaters for the outside area. I ordered the gorgonzola tartine and it was delicious. It comes with a salad of mixed greens. The flavors work just as well in a baguette as they do in a salad. There were some wonderful-looking dessert choices. This spot has a European feel to it, where meals are relaxed and the food is savored. It's an easy walk to the water taxi to San Diego.
