This trip was a mother/daughter getaway in celebration of my daughter's 50th birthday. My husband and I had stayed here three times in years past, and I was concerned the hotel might have changed since our last visit six years ago. To my delight, it is just as lovely today and the service just as fabulous as before. Every member of the staff is friendly, knowledgeable considerate, and graciously helpful. The complimentory breakfast served in the music room or outside on the veranda has everything an active visitor could want. Mid afternoon lemonade and gingersnaps are available, and evenings, chocolate chip cookies, hot from the oven, are delivered to our door(also chocolates) and iced milk is set out on the landing. Beach chairs and towels are also complimentary. Mansion beds are soooo comfortable. The swim pool and spa are small for a hotel this size, but that is the worst thing I can say. The location of the hotel is excellent. My daughter is planning to come back with her husband next year. Nancy Watkins

In late April, early May we took some time out of a hectic schedule, used up some frequent flyer miles, and headed to San Diego. Our selection of the Glorietta Bay Inn was based on a personal recommendation by one of my wife's coworkers and confirmed by some of the other comments posted here at tripadvisor. After check-in we took the front-desk's advise and found several good restaurants within walking distance. Shopping also. Having breakfast delivered to the room was a nice touch. We did some of the tourist-ie things for which San Diego is famous: the zoo, the wildlife park, the original Sea World (although it has become somewhat tired and hasn't kept up with its Orlando off-shoot) and the waterfront shopping area on the San Diego side of the bay. Towards the end of our stay we did a dinner and the nearby yacht club restaurant and I enjoyed the best steak ever, something called a baseball cut. The waitress recommended it be butterflied and that made it perfect. On another trip to that area we'd stay again at the Glorietta Bay Inn. There was an in-room safe that we didn't use because it seemed not to be securely fastened to the piece of furniture in which it was housed. That didn't seem too safe!

Our stay at Glorietta Bay was perfect! At check in we were upgraded to a room that had a small patio. The room was well appointed and much bigger than our room at the W in downtown San Diego. The location is perfect--your are right across the street from the Hotel Del and within walking distance to great restaurants and shops on Orange Avenue. We enjoyed walking the grounds of the Hotel Del as well as beach access for our morning walk. The breakfast was more than ample and they had indoor and outdoor seating. The pool looked great but our time was filled enjoying other sites that San Diego/Coronado have to offer. The staff was also very accomdating. Great stay!

Glorietta Bay is the best location in Coronado and the breakfast can not be beat. The location is perfect to walk to restaurants and the beach. The staff was very helpful. Our room was spacious with a refrigerator and we had a small patio which made coffee in the morning a delight. Having a breakfast included in your stay is always such a bonus especially when traveling with a family!
