“Very Enjoyable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2011

I am a rather picky person, and I found everything about Glorietta Inn enjoyable. We stayed in a suite that had two bathrooms which made my teenager very happy to have her own private bathroom like at home. You get the luxury of soft robes when you get out of the shower. Dan at the front desk helped me with my reservations, and he made sure that everything about our stay satisfied our family needs. The continental breakfast was very upscale and then some. I really can't say enough nice things about this hotel....clean, friendly staff, across from the Del Hotel. The beach is just right across the street!

Room Tip: Ask for Dan, and he will make sure your stay is GREAT!

I booked this location because of all the wonderful reviews on TripAdvisor. We were pleasantly surprised during our stay. The location is perfect, with great shopping and local eateries within walking distance. Even if you dare, you may walk across the street to the pricier Hotel Del Coronado for a cocktail at night. The hotel staff was extremely pleasant and helpful during our stay. The cookies served at turn-down service were delicious. To cap off our stay, a continental breakfast was delivered directly to our room, 5 minutes ahead of schedule. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Room 106, Lurline Room. Nice size room with mini refrigerator. Only thing missing...

This mansion is in a great spot, right in the heart of it. It's convenient location across the street from the del is nice. Our room (104) needs updating, the bathroom needs a facelift yesterday. the room is way too small. The little balcony this room has feels like you are on the rooftop of a building, not a balcony(it's awkward).
The staff is phenomenal, the service is a++. We went as a 2 day stay for our anniversary and when we arrived they had a comPlimentary nice bottle of red wine with glasses for us to enjoy. The continental breakfast has plenty of choices for a continental breakfast. In the afternoon they have wine and appetizers in the main lobby for guests and at turn down they do a nice job too. Overall, i would return but I would stay in a larger room. Hopefully, they update the building soon.

Booked this hotel at the advice of friends who stayed that the inn but recommended we stay in one of the mansion rooms and we're glad we upgraded to those accommodations. While the rest of the hotel looked pleasant enough, the elegance of the mansion added to the relaxation we were hoping to get during the 4 days we were guests. The Sunset room itself was on the smaller side, but adequate for our needs, and the terrace provided an ideal location for breakfast (which was served punctually as per our requested time the evening before) as well as for reading and lounging on the swing. The views, quite limited of the beach and offering much of the roof, were less than optimal but still pleasant enough to spend time outdoors with some degree of privacy. We loved the library and the patio; the pool, like the terrace, was adequate for our needs. Evening turn-down was a nice touch, housekeeping efficient and courteous as was the front desk staff. Excellent location - easy walk to the beach and town.

Room Tip: Sunset room overlooks the front of the hotel, as a result may be a bit noisier as guests tend to con...

Stayed at the Glorietta Bay Inn this past weekend. We decided to splurge and reserve a room in the Mansion . . . the Library Room. When we arrived we were greeted and assisted by Georgia who was very gracious and offered a wealth of information. Although the service we experienced at the inn was friendly and attentive, it may be time to replace the mattress in the "Library Room," which I found too soft and worn out. Complimentary breakfast was adequate . . . loved eating outside on the patio. Cookies and milk, and turn down service were a nice touch each evening.

Location of this inn is great. Directly across from The Del, walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. We will definitely return again.

Room Tip: Although the Library room was beautifully decorated, it is on the first floor of the mansion, behind...

This is a very family friendly hotel across the street from the Hotel Del Coronado. We stayed in one of the new additions and the room was clean and modern. Eating breakfast in the mansion on the patio was treat! Walking distance to many restaurants and the Hotel Del is lovely! Walk to the beach and you can stop on the way to rent umbrella's and chairs. Walk back a block for shops and restaurants.

Room Tip: For romance, choose something in the mansion (period decor), with kids I recommend one of hte newer...

We loved this property. The staff was extremely helpful, particularly Gabriella, Laura, and Tim at the front desk. Also Raj, reservations manager. We both work in a AAA rated 4 diamond hotel and were impressed with the service here.

We stayed in Sunset Room 104. The room is really beautiful, as is the entire mansion. I didn't see any of the other hotel rooms but after staying in the mansion i'd say it's definitely worth paying a slightly higher rate. We had a wonderful breakfast delivered to the room every morning and ate on our balcony. Nice table overlooking the bay. The bed was extremely comfortable. Everything was extremely clean upon check in and after our daily housekeeping service.

104 may be smaller than some of the other mansion rooms, but the porch is really what seals the deal. it's got a private balcony area with a table and a porch swing that you really can't see on the hotel website. There is a really nice view of the bay and a partial ocean view..a few more potted plants around the edge of the balcony would make it even better.

Thanks to the GM for being so friendly and accommodating even when we stopped by after a full day of drinking rum on the beach...Thanks to all of the staff we had a great time
