“Another pleasant meal at Peohe's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2014 via mobile

We've eaten at Peohe's a number of times and always enjoy it. This review is for the most recent visit which was for lunch. They have a lovely patio area that looks out toward downtown San Diego and is a very pleasant mealtime venue. We shared a fried calamari appetizer and followed that with a crab, avocado and mango stack and a lobster salad sandwich. The calamari was delicious with a sweet Thai chili sauce. The crab stack is on the appetizer menu but is plenty for a lunch portion; one of my favorites for lunch. The lobster sandwich was very good as well. Service is good and has always been pleasant and attentive. One note about a previous visit; my husband called for a reservation on my birthday. They asked if it was a special occasion and when we were seated, were provided with a menu that had a personalized birthday message. Nice.

“A Sunset Delight to your taste buds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2014

My partner and I visited on a warm evening at sunset. The staff were very hospitable and found a great window seat for us overlooking the bay. We took the recommendations of our waiter and got the crab stack - a layer of fresh crab meat on top of sliced mangos and avacados, chilled over a gelatin mix. It was a truly delightful appetizer. We then ordered the Mahi-mahi with bananas and macadamia nuts encrusted. Incredible combination of flavors. We agreed this was one of our best meals ever. The prices were reasonable for the quality of food. The service was friendly and attentive. I would recommend to a friend and will definitely go there next trip to Coronado Island.

“View worth the visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2014

Was at a private party and the view from the deck of the San Diego skyline was one of the most amazing I have ever experienced. Wish I had a picture to share. The food was great. Sushi, sliders, great desserts. I noted that those in the restaurant had what looked like super plates. However go for the view. It is the best aspect1

“Excellent View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2014

This place is busy from the moment it opens. We were there around lunchtime, but didn't have to wait long. There are heaters outside so you can enjoy the view of the water up close. Okay service, good food and fantastic dessert (especially the cake you have to wait for!).

“Always a treat - great food, great service, and a stellar view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014

We were a family of 4 adults celebrating a birthday over a late lunch on Feb 22 of this year. As locals, we have enjoyed Peohe's several times over the years, and this was no exception. The view across the bay is so beautiful, day or night. Among us, we ordered calamari (really great) and artichokes (great but should have been cooked slightly more) for appetizers, and mahi tacos, a salmon bento box, coconut shrimp, and the Mahi Mai'a for entrees, followed by one hot lava cake shared among us (fine for us, as we are not big dessert eaters). Almost everything was excellent. The only entree that we cannot recommend is the bento box. The only other thing that I would tell their management to improve is to have local beer on tap. Really, Peohe's? No craft beer on tap? With all of the outstanding breweries in San Diego, and even in Coronado itself, there is no excuse for that.
I want to mention specifically that our server, Christopher, was outstanding. He was attentive and gave good advice.
We'll be back. And hopefully have a draft beer :)
