Coronado has a very rich military culture which continues with the Naval base on the Island. No place on the island celebrates their military history more that McP's The owner is a former Navy Seal himself and the walls are covered in artifacts from his two tours in Vietnam as well as numerous collectibles since then. Take the time to look at them all, you almost think you are in a museum.

We only went in for drinks so we cannot comment on the food but the drinks were great and the staff was friendy. There is band every night so it is always jumping (if it gets too loud there is a large patio where it is quieter). It is also more than likely you will run into some military personnel as well as many of the Coronado locals.

When in Coronado, be sure to stop by McP's even if it only for quick drink

We just returned from our fall vacation on Coronado Island. I read in my research that this was the best bar on Coronado Island and it was right!! We loved the outdoor patio & the place was very busy. We especially liked our waitress "Tambi". She was very nice & friendly. The fish taco was great but can't say much about the beef barley soup though.

Great place with something for everyone. Very family friendly, but also great for singles. The patio was relaxing and fun. How can you beat live music while enjoying good food and drink with friendly people? Convenient location, close to Hotel Del.
