5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

We stayed at the Beach Village for the 1st time- had stayed at the hotel before.
There were 2 adults and 3 kids in a 1 bedroom/kitchenette.
It was very tight with one bedroom- don't recommend that part of it.
But, at $1500 a night, that's all we could get.
Service, the "club" for eating and the views were amazing!!
There are not too many guests there, so you never feel crowded, except in your own room perhaps.
even tho my husband had an employee discount, they wouldn't honor it , so they are hard core about that. Way better than the hotel, and the hotel is still available to you. Could be my new #1 hotel, aside from tropical places that deliver umbrella drinks to you on the beach.

Room Tip: pay extra for a room with a view, can't beat it.

Our experience at the Beach Village during Christmas time could not have been better. We were very thankful not to have been in the main hotel as it was overly crowded. However the beach villas were just great. They were extremely clean and the clean up service was very nice. It was great to be able to use actual glasses and plates and they would be clean the next morning. The views from these places are incredible, as you can sit on the balcony and hear and see the ocean. The entire experience starts with you being escorted to your villa with a mini tour of the property. Breakfast is included at the club house and it is a very nice spread. There are fire pits to sit around outdoors so it makes for a great way to start the day. As part of the beach villa you get access to the fitness club and it is very nice as well. There are hot tubs spread out along the villas and these are great smaller pools. The hospitality is wonderful as they arranged all sorts of activities for us, from the Victorian Tea to surfing. The stay was really a top rate stay that I would highly recommend, especially if there is a group or family going!

Room Tip: If you are not in a villa right on the beach, I would suggest requesting a higher floor so that you...

This is our 2nd visit to The Beach Villas at The Del since summer 2012.
We were all looking forward to coming back to end our vacation at The Beach Villas and they didn't disappoint.

We booked a junior suite on a top floor villa with an adjoining rooms for our kids.
Rooms are very well appointed, well laid out and spacious with great balconies overlooking the beach.

The Windsor Cottage is exclusive to Beach Villa guests and there you can have breakfast & dinner and throughout the day a quiet place to sit and watch the world go by with great views over the beach and hotel grounds.

The staff are brilliant. Each and every one that we spoke to or were served by were very friendly and helpful.
It is definitely one of the hotels strong points that the staff are so good.
Too many hotels have staff that simply do their job, but The Beach Villas staff really care that you have a good time.... simple things, but added together it makes for a great stay.

Yes, its not a cheap place to go to, but you get what you pay for!
Good food, great service, perfect location.

Already looking to come back in October 2014.

Room Tip: We have always had a top floor suite so that we can get the better views of the beach/ocean. Room 2...

We stayed in a beach front "cottage" with another family so we had the entire ground floor of one of about six beach front buildings. The rooms were very nice, great bathrooms and plenty of room, but the best part of the property is the deck in the front. Because we had essentially three units, we had two hot tubs and one big fire pit in the middle. We spent every night sitting on the deck watching the sun set and sparking up the fire. It wasn't private because you are steps from the beach, but this didn't bother us at all. You need a special key to access this part of the Del, which has its own private pool with bar and food service. If you don't stay in a beach front, there are a few hot tubs that only the beach village guests can use, which have ocean views, there are also two more small pools like these. The service was excellent, I guess you get what you pay for. This is a beautiful property and a splurge that is well worth it. The room came with breakfast at a private house on the property which actually belonged to Wallace Simpson. This was very nice, and had a patio with ocean views. My kids enjoyed watching the hawk that they bring to the property every day to keep the seagulls away. Very interesting. Watch your food if the hawk isn't out, they are very aggressive.

This was our second stay at the Del after a surprisingly disappointing first stay last year in the historic part of the hotel. We decided to give it another chance, and found out about the Beach Village during our research. We were very pleased, and that says a lot given how expensive it is.

First, the Beach Village is gated off from the chaos of the main hotel. It is quieter and has a variety of acommodations from kitchenettes, to ground floor beachfront suites (which we had...junior suite). We always read the worst reviews first in TripAdvisor to see what made someone that upset. One complaint the Beach Village Beachfront Suite had was the foot traffic on the boardwalk right in front of your patio. Yes, there are people on a side walk 40 feet away on the other side of a fence....but they are not a problem at all. In fact, we opened up the french doors COMPLETELY and let the breeze flow into the room. My wife and I are very private and did not feel intruded upon.

Now, your experience could be impacted by who your neighbors end up being. Screaming kids would be a problem, but we were fortunate in quiet neighbors. The rooms CAN be shared with a common door, and we did get a quick "Howdy Neighbor" from our dorky neighbor across the common gate but that was it.

We had a "private" jacuzzi, but private meant only for us to use....not that you are away from public view. There are very nice Beach Village only pools and jacuzzi's as well.

The room was beautifully appointed. Awesome tub to soak in. 2 seperate sink areas. Beautiful gas fireplace. Full movie selection available on TV but $15 for a $5 movie rental back home. We used room service and it was all around excellent. You are assigned a concierge (Thanks Sasha!) who was wonderfully helpful. The Beach Village only clubhouse is very nice and the breakfast was first rate. The rooms are wonderful all morning but the afternoon sun is either really intrusive or bright and happy depending on your viewpoint.

To say we would stay again, the experience must be worth the money or more. The Beach Village is VERY expensive.....as is the Del in general. We would stay here at the Beach Village again.

Be prepared to tip, and you will be pampered. If you are impossible to please then you will find fault. We had a great time. THe staff at the Del try hard to exceed your expectations.

Room Tip: Stay in a Beach Front Junior Suite. It is quiter, and it's just you and the beach!

We stayed at the Beach Village for 8 nights. The hotel and service were exceptional. Our room was a two bedroom surf suite. It two beds and two baths, a full kitchen and living area, as well a fire pit on the patio - this was great and we used it almost every night. Our room was basically on the beach, just the common beach sidewalk and fence separated us from the beach. The room was great and very well maintained. Room service was excellent. The whole staff was friendly and very helpful. My wife, daughter, and I had a great time, the cabanas on the beach were excellent as well. I would highly recommend and will return if in town again. Thank you.

I decided to take my wife to the Hotel Del for her birthday, which fell right after our 31st anniversary. Through some divine intervention, we were able to book the Beach Village at The Del. Staying at The Del was sort of a bucket list item for me and I surprised my wife with the trip as she did not know where we were going or staying when we left. When she found out, she was ecstatic.

No matter our level of anticipation, the experience itself far exceeded anything we could have imagined. I travel extensively in my business and stay in fine hotels all over the world. What I can say about The Villages and The Del is simply this: I have NEVER experienced the level of courtesy, hospitality and professionalism in a hotel/bar/restaurant staff as we did at The Del. The experience as to how we were treated as guests was incomparable. Everyone was friendly, diligent in responding to requests and thoroughly interested in our comfort and enjoyment as guests. The level of service is unparalleled by a factor of the "enth" degree.

The lodging, shopping, drinking and dining experience is unlike anything I have ever seen. I have never been anywhere where such a great group of folks work. If you ever have the chance to stay there, don't just take it, jump on it! You won't regret it. I can't wait to go back

Room Tip: Got one on the beach. While the privacy is less than interior rooms, sitting on the patio watching...
