“Nice hotel, but beware of extra charges”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2012 via mobile

We enjoyed our 4 night stay but feeling lighter in our wallets. First the good, The grounds are gorgeous (resident flamingos, ducks with adorable ducklings waddling all around, and many other birds). The room was spacious, bathroom even more spacious. Friendly service. Great pool grill/bar. Location was nice (bay side), quick access to Coronado bay bridge. Nice place for families.
Now the bad, $22/day for parking, $12+/day for wi fi, $45-50 for b'fast for 2 ppl. Etc. ridiculous. The following 2 nights we stayed at the fabulous Beach Terrace Inn in Carlsbad and got wi fi, parking & b'fast all for free.
All in all, the Marriott is a very nice hotel, but my advice is: park on the street, don't use the wi fi, and grab some fruit & yogurts at the grocery store down the street for the fridge/b'fast. Enjoy Coronado, it's a beautiful place.

Convenient location on the water just down from the shops by the ferry, great amenities (pool, hot tub, restaurant, bar, spa, exercise equipment), and really efficient service. Very clean, beautiful property; we would absolutely stay here again!

Room Tip: If you're on the ground floor, just make sure your curtains are closed if you want utmost privac...

We were debating between this Marriott and a San Diego property, and could not have been happier with the choice. It is very well maintained, and the location is right on a walk / bike path. We loved being able to run in the morning, then walk or drive a very short distance to restaurants and shops on Coronado. The restaurant and bar in the Marriott was also very good. And everything in San Diego was also just a few minutes away. You can't go wrong.

Room Tip: Ask to face the bay, but be sure to specify the area closer to the ferry (away from the pool). The o...

We just loved staying at this hotel. We could walk into town to shops and restaurants, but felt very private when hanging by the pool. The pool and hot tub were perfect temperatures and were right on the Bay, looking over at San Diego.

The rooms are large, clean, well decorated and bright. The rooms on the lowest floor have very large patios and the upper floors have balconies. The bathroom also had a very large soaking tub and a separate shower. There are restaurants within walking distance and we didn't feel suffocated by the mob scene over by the Hotel del Coronado.

On the downside, this property is on the bay side of Coronado, so there isn't a really good beach nearby. But, the pool is nice.

Someone who had been there before said this is where we had to stay if we went to San Diego and they were right!! The view was amazing, the price was reasonable and the staff was always helpful. We got breakfast one morning to the room and it was well worth it. They offer happy hour in the lounge and the I was impressed with the spa. The weather wasn't ideal pool weather until the last day when it got crowded down there but there was more then enough room for everyone. I would love to go back someday.

Loved this location.....right across the bay from San Diego. Great for families, ships/boats going by all day. Get a view of the bay. Stayed in executive room.....2 balconies and separate bedroom with a foldout couch in the living room. Service was outstanding throughout the entire hotel, except for housekeeping. The maid never vacuumed. After 4 days I had to call to request someone to vacuum the next day. She also never cleaned the windows in our room and they were extremely smudged from my son putting his hands all over them. Housekeeping is a big disappointment! Towels changed daily and beds made, but bedding changed only every 3 days. Call and complain if you are disappointed. Otherwise a great stay with lots to do; happy hour is awesome too! Appetizers and drinks discounted.
