“Something for Everyone”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2010

We were looking for something new tonight and discovered Memo's in Concord. They are a gem, using grandma's recipes, this father/daughter team have created something special. Everything served is made on premises and delicious. We are going to be regulars at this homey place.

“Great food and atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2007

There are lots of Mexican reataurants in the area, but this is the only one we've foiund where you can have a pleasant, quiet, white tablecloth meal. The classical guitar music adds to the relaxing atmosphere, never intrfering with conversation, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Don't pass up their specialty - chicken pipian -- chunks of chicken breast in a pumpkin seed mole sauce, it is pleasantly spicy. It came with warm tortillas, beans and rice. Also very good were the nopales cactus salad and sopas. Unfotunately, we didn't have time to try the desserts. Service was leisurely, a nice change from so many places where you feel rushed to make room for the next diners, but be sure to allow plenty of time.

Memos is on a quiet side street that seems to have plenty of parking nearby, and a patio for outdoor dining.

The people at Memo's are so nice - It's the best mexican restaurant in the area and they cater to Vegetarians too! Awesome food. No Lard.

“Outstanding!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2005

My partner and I have been to this restaurant numerous
times over the past year and a half. Each time we
visited, we have found the food to be topnotch. In
particular, the chicken pipian, toscana salad,
portabello mushroom salad, and chocolate cake were
outstanding. Chile rellenos, nopales salad, and
several of the dessert items were very good. Chips are
made in house and are usually served warm and fresh.

The owner is friendly as is his daughter, who is the
dessert chef. Of note for vegetarians and vegans (we
are vegans), anything on the menu, including the
chicken pipian, can be made with mock meat and dishes
can be ordered without dairy, as can most dessert
items.

Restrooms are exceptionally clean. Parking is easy to
obtain. And, a final additional touch makes this is a
terrific spot for a romantic dinner: there is a live
guitarist who plays muted classical selections
Wednesday through Sunday nights (call the restaurant
to learn what time he will be there). The restaurant is closed Mondays.

Five stars and two enthusiastic thumbs up from these
satisfied customers.
