“Visiting a kid at one of the Claremont colleges? This is for you.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

You can pay a heck of a lot more for a hotel room in Claremont village and have the advantage of being right in the thick of things. Or you can stay here and have the advantages of paying significantly less, having a lovely, comfortable room, enjoying a relaxing walk into the village or to campus (Pomona's is the furthest, and it's about a 15 minute walk), and skipping over to Wolf's Market or TJ's for snacks or meal makings. By senior year the last place my kid wanted to go was the village - been there, done that! - so the Doubletree was even more appropriate as a base. In addition to Trader Joe's and Wolf's, there are grocery stores, coffee shops, drug stores, and anything else you need all nearby, as well as easy access to the highways - it couldn't be more convenient.
Keep in mind it's almost impossible to book for graduation: call ahead to find out when they begin taking reservations, and then be quick about it on the appointed day - they sold out in 10 minutes for graduation 2015. There simply aren't a lot of reasonable options in the area, and it's worth any effort you can make to score your room(s) there.

I have stayed here several times and it is in a very beautiful place well laid out with many area attractions to see and eat at.
Just a touch hard to find and its new clean and well cared for . The staff is great and morning free breakfast is well groomed.Nice place to just hangout and unwind. The entire area is so Cal its very smooth . Many businesses in the area and so many things to do .Make this a spot to stay if you do not know where to go .Drive around and see all of the nice houses all over too. Many places to eat almost every corner and location.Shopping and upscale all the way.

We stayed here to be close to family we were visiting. Room was very large and the hotel has a great pool/Jacuzzi area with loungers and towels supplied. This was a very welcome and much needed treat after a very long drive.

Room Tip: Not a noisy area but some rooms overlook pool

If you need to stay in Claremont, I highly recommend the DoubleTree. It is extremely convenient to the Village and to the Colleges. They have terrific facilities: gym, restaurant, pool. The hotel is quiet and comfortable.

This hotel is the best hotel to visit Claremont Colleges within a nice distance from the campus. Friendly staffs, clean room, Southern Californian atmosphere will welcome you. Also, it is very convenient, as Citi bank and Trader Joe's are in the same block.

I recently went to Claremont for work and decided I would stay at Doubletree. The air conditioning was not great but the filth was what I could not avoid.I picked up the phone to use it and it felt like grease. I put my glasses on, and to my horror, saw dirt and grease! Then I looked at the furniture and saw many many marks of oil and dirt. I don't think it had been cleaned in a year. Yuck

Dear Cathi M,
Thank you for your feedback of your recent stay with us here at the DoubleTree by Hilton Claremont. I sincerely apologize for the housekeeping issues that you experienced; our hotel works really hard to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of our guests and we are very sorry that did not meet your expectations. I am working with our housekeeping staff to prevent this from happening in the future. I hope that if your travels bring you back to the area that you will consider staying with us again.

Thank you,
Shirlene Maldonado

The room that I got was clean, well furnished but above all, the mattresses were firm. I actually got a great night sleep without any backaches which don't usually happen at hotels. Lobby was nicely appointed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Even the restaurant food was pretty good not accounting for the price but it provided a very nice ambience to relax after my long drive to Claremont.

Dear Ikv650,
So nice to hear that you got a great night sleep on our Serta Mattresses, sleep is very important but even nicer when you do not wake up with a backache.
We hope to you have back with us again soon!
Warm regards,
