I have stayed here numerous times in the last year. The rambling property includes multiple buildings, a nice pool and spa area, a separate shaded courtyard (with a "waterfall" wall and table service), a very passable restaurant, and LOTS of trees. The rooms that face into the courtyards, especially those with balconies, provide a very relaxing setting amidst the palm trees and other foliage. There are also other dining options within the block and a Trader Joe's next door. I have found the staff members to be friendly and helpful, and the rooms to be clean and reasonably appointed though by no means spectacular. I do like the etched glass bathroom doors, which are sliding pocket doors in the smaller rooms and hinged doors in the larger ones. Nice touch.
Even though my business takes me to San Dimas, which is 15 minutes away, I make it a point to stay here, because of both the hotel and the town. Claremont Village is about 12 blocks away and has many places to eat and shop. It is easily my favorite town in the Inland Empire and maybe in the LA area - heavily treed, college atmosphere, and a very well-defined downtown area (unlike many of the other suburban sprawl suburbs which surround it). The town has rows of very well-kept craftsman-style bungalows, some with Frank Lloyd Wright influences. It's a nice walk from the hotel to the village and I've never felt unsafe making the walk. I'm a six-foot male, though, so use your own judgment.
