I stayed here because it was paid for by my girlfriend's company, and then stayed on for an additional 4 days for some time on our own because at the time I couldn't afford to stay in Downtown, or any of the more salubrious parts of San Diego.
The ONLY reason I'd ever stay here again is because once again, I couldn't afford something better.

Don't get me wrong as far as budget hotels go, this wasn't so bad, but then again, considering the tap/faucet fell of in the bath, and the room smelt like industrial strength detergent for a day or two after arrival and there were some interesting and noisy late night 'activities' in the car park 2/3 nights out of the 11 I stayed, it wasn't the best either.

The location is good maybe if you need to be close to the border, but aside from that don't choose this if you want to get in to central/downtown San Diego. Also, unlike someone said in the review, it's not 15 mins from Sea World, especially with notorious California traffic in the way. Map it, you'll see how far it is.

My girlfriend met up with her friend during her stay, and when she told her friend that we were staying in Chula Vista, her response was a wrinkled nose accompanied with an "Oh..." which is pretty much it in a nutshell.

Avoid IF possible, but it's not the absoloute worst IF you have to stay there.
