“Left hungry, disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

Our waiter was not a waiter if you know what I mean. He is probably a jr college student and would rather being doing anything else than pleasing customers. Our food was pretty slow getting to the table and just not enough for two adults. We ordered off the Lobster Tuesday menu, the $45 special that is supposed to feed two. If it wasn't for the side of potatoes and something else that is escaping me, we would have had to eat on the way home. To top it off, we didn't notice that our Groupon didn't cover the Lobster Tuesday menu, so we got hosed there. The kids meals were supposed to be free, but we had to ask to have them taken off the bill. The couple at the table next to us were pretty fumed that the food was so slow and complained loudly. Needless to say, we won't be back until we read better reviews.

“I told you so ....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

Back in December our friends called to say they were buying a Groupon for this restaurant and did we want to buy one too. I read the reviews and declined but they bought one anyway. On Friday they invited us to join them while they cashed in their coupon. I read the most recent reviews, groaned but agreed. Ok, here it is:

Parking lot was jammed but the restaurant was sparsely populated. The bar, on the other hand, was jammed. It appears to be a TGIF watering hole.

Two of our friends ordered drink specials: a daiquiri and a margarita. (Since I was bracing for the worst, I ordered a glass of wine.) Both drinks were served in a tall glass, were very sweet and did not appear to have much rum/tequila.

Bread: was excellent: warm and good.

Food: good. It could have been great, but it wasn't very warm.

Service: was ... well .... casual. Our reservation was at 7 and we left there around 10. Thank goodness we were with people we enjoyed. Our conversation carried us over the delays. At no time was the restaurant more than 25% occupied. On a Friday. If the staff had been under stress (suppose the restaurant had been 75-100% occupied) it would have been a complete disaster.

Ambiance: One of our friends was seated over a sea of discarded oyster crackers -- perhaps the table had been recently occupied by a toddler? The noise level was high -- the bar featured a live band. The view was super. We ate indoors because it was chilly, but a lot of TGIF'ers were eating (drinking) on the patio which featured fire pits and overhead heaters. The fire pits were lit but the overhead heaters were not in use.

We survived but we will not return.

“Not bad, but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

We had the Maine Lobster special for 15.95 which was a great value. Unfortunately, the lobster was over cooked and although tasty was tough. Beautiful location (Chula Vista Marina) but really hard to find. Do not trust your GPS. You can't get there on G Street which runs through a local factory. Service was slow, but pleasant. Waitress did get our bill wrong, but fixed it with no problem.

“NIGHTMARE”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2012

Our family went here for Easter Brunch. It was a Nightmare. When we got to made to order omlette station there was only 1 person trying to make omlettes and also waffles so it took forever. When we got to our table with food, there was no silverware and didn't get any for 20 min. by then our food was cold. We didn't get any champayne but happened to find some chilling on ice, so opened and poured our own. The table next to us and ourseves had to go find our own silverware. The roast beef kept running out and took 20 min to replenish every time it did. finally when we were leaving we went to restroom and there was no toilet paper or paper towels. The wait staff was the only thing that kept us from leaving pissed off. They were Awesome and did a great job with what they had to work with. Thanks Guys!

“Good burger at a seafood restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

I don't like seafood, but this was our only choice until our ride arrived. And, I was starved because my stomach was still on east coast time. I ordered the Bay Burger and we ate outside. It would have been delicious even if I wasn't starving. We had a great view of the marina and some good people watching. The honcho at Channel 70 Productions was pleased.
