“Good Choice!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

We came up to visit CSU Chico and stayed here based on a colleagues recommendation. We were not disappointed at all! The staff was very friendly and greeted us with a gift bag of Chico information and water bottles. The evening reception and full breakfast made the rate an extra good deal. My boys enjoyed the proximity to the multitude of restaurants within walking distance and the drive to the CSU campus was a piece of cake. The room was spacious and comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay here again.
One of my sons took advantage of the work-out room and was impressed with the sauna!

we came up to visit the university, and this hotel was half the price of one we considered closer to Chico State. the evening appetizers were delicious, the room was very nice, and we even used the pool and hot tub in November. though pets are allowed, we didn't see any. the breakfast was ok, though the dishes weren't my favorite. the only negatives i experienced were that the juice and milk machines don't work at the evening buffet, and i and quite a few other guests tried using them to no avail. i suggested to front desk to label them as "breakfast only". i would stay again. right across the street from the mall.

Room Tip: we liked the fourth floor

The husband and I just had our 4th stay at this hotel and it has certainly grown on us - to the point that I feel compelled to update my review. We stay at a lot of Sheratons, Hyatts and Marriotts and lets not forget Hiltons, which I if ever review but when a single hotel or small chain stands out I do like to either plug or forewarn.
So here's the deal - you can get good bargains (under $100 for AAA) for a large room, a good breakfast and a staff that is as friendly and accommodating as they come. Sometimes the hotel has a "festive" vibe which we came to appreciate. This time, on a Sunday in November it was all quiet and I could appreciate the accommodations more. They really do listen as well. Since my last visit they upgraded their amenities and went green in the process. This is a happy place to stay :-)

I was in charge of a large Military group between 80 to 100 people multiple times and we decided to stay at the Oxford Suites each time. It is by far the best place in Chico. I Looked around at all the other hotels and nothing offered what the Oxford Suites had. It is located at a prime spot with a line of restaurants, and a mall just a walk away. It is also about a 5-10 minute walk from Sierra Nevada Brewery, and if you don't want to walk it, the Oxford Suites does offer a shuttle. They will go out of their way to pic you up from the Airport also. It wasn't required but we always tipped the driver. They have a free breakfast in the morning and just for staying there they give you two free drinks of your choosing (Beer, Wine, or Soda) a night. WIth my job, there was always uncertainties of when we can leave or when we were going to arrive. Katie, the Sales Manager knew this and was always understandable. She was always willing to have breakfast ready as early as 5AM, extend our stay and have drivers standing by in case we needed them. The rest of the staff was amazing too and always helpful. Rooms were clean, nice and the beds were so comfortable. The hotel also offers a pool, jacuzzi, gym and Sauna. I wouldn't let my guys or myself stay anywhere else in Chico. Thank you Katie and the rest of the Oxford Suites staff!!!

Room Tip: If you have a large group, ask for Katie

Been visiting Chico for years due to family living there. My wife and I previously stayed downtown at various motels until it became unbearable due to lack of cleanliness, noise and cost.
Oxford Suites is now our go to location. Good value, clean, helpful staff and a full breakfast buffet included. We didn't try the afternoon reception, also included. The only knock on this property is some rooms are beginning to show wear and tear from use. Still, for Chico, it could be much worse.

We were in town for a wedding and found the Oxford Suites to be clean, quiet, and welcoming. Perfect for what we needed for a quick weekend in Chico. The location was easily accessible (Hwy 99 was around the corner) and, if you needed, within walking distance to chain restaurants and shopping.

Room Tip: The top floor is better as it tended to be quieter, although the elevator was really slow.

This was a visit during the annual Chico Experience Week. Reserved this room back in March since this was also Parents weekend. Oxford is almost like an Embassy Suites with its evening reception (two drinks per person instead of Embassy's unlimited), hot appetizers (better than just snacks at Embassy), and morning breakfast buffet. This was a pleasant surprise as we were expecting the standard continental fare of coffee and Danishes.

The bed was awesome and we slept great both nights. The hotel was quiet considering it was packed full of people. Staff were attentive and courteous. Location was close to the campus and many restaurants.

Looking forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: Request high floor and away from elevator.
