“One of the only remaining covered bridges in the U.S.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Very pretty spot with Butte Creek running beneath it. You can no longer drive across it. Nice drive on Honey Run road to get to where it is located in Butte Creek canyon. There is a fee to park there or you can sometimes find parking down the street for free a short ways away. Swimming in the summer but usually shallow. Picnic areas with a view of the creek and restrooms. Sometimes functions there and a pancake breakfast once a year that is great. About 20 minutes or so from downtown Chico.

“Oldest Covered Bridge in Chico,Ca”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

This is a truly amazing structure built over 100 years ago...Just to walk through the covered bridge is an experience itself! I visited the bridge in March of 2011 with my nephew & niece & was absolutely amazed at the fact that the bridge was still walkable!

“Not many of these left..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

The Honey Run Covered Bridge is a relic of past days. It is well preserved and a lovely place for a picnic or a stroll. The creek flows well all year long and is a refreshing summer swimming area. The Covered Bridge was featured in the 1956 film Friendly Persuasion.

“Bike to the bridge!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013 via mobile

By car you will be there in minutes and miss the whole reason for seeing it. By bike you will twist and turn on a narrow road but be thoroughly entertained by the greenery including the rapid flow of Butte Creek. Be alert of cars and wear your helmet but you won't be disappointed with this journey. Relatively low difficulty level for this bike ride but novices might want to work up to it with an easier ride around town.

“"Run, honey, run!"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

A wonderful piece of history no longer used for cars or horse and buggy, either. But it's a lovely picnic place, swimmimg hole, and site of many photographs from every time of the year. Used for family gatherings, fund raisers,, and weddings, including that of my son, years age!
