Just got back from a one-night stay in Chico. We paid about $44 a room at the Days Inn. It is shabby--pilly blankets, old bedspreads, cheap, thin towels. There were hairs on the floor in the bathroom, left from a previous occupant. And then there was the pervasive sweetish odor in the room--I left the door open as long as I could, hoping to air out the room, but to no avail.
The continental breakfast is equally unappealing--a basket of small pastries in plastic (think gas station) and coffee.
At least there is a food co-op across the street and a fine coffee bar nearby (has beans).
This hotel is advertised as renovated??? No way.
