We were treated like royalty and our stay is something that I will always remember. Breakfast was fabulous! David and Joan made us feel at home when we weren't sure if we would have a home to return to.

We stayed at the Johnson's Country Inn for two nights when taking our daughter to college. It's a relatively new Victorian out in an almond orchard on the southern edge of town. Everything is very clean and comfortable, and the owners, Dave and Joan, could not be nicer.

  • Liked — Breakfast was great. Interesting location in an orchard.
  • Disliked — It was well worth the money, but still a little out of my comfort price range.

Had a great two night stay here. We arrived on a very hot day and stepping into the cool of the house was bliss. We received a nice warm welcome and a nice cool welcome glass of wine.

We stayed in the Harrison room and both the room and bathroom were very spacious and well equipped, and plenty of wardrobe space too. It was a very peaceful location, yet near to the centre and its amenities.

Mr and Mrs Johnson were excellent hosts and very interesting to talk to and learn some of the family history. The breakfasts set us up for the day.

Good job my husband stayed downstairs looking at abook, and therefore missed my three attempts to get into bed (it's very high!!)

  • Liked — peaceful setting
  • Disliked — nothing

Our family of seven adults just spent Labor Day weekend at Johnson's Country Inn. The B&B is immaculate, spacious, quiet and perfect. It was so lovely and David and Joan were so gracious, generous and caring that it was hard to leave.
The home has a spacious parlor, with board games, a comfortable living room with tons of books and a hidden TV, a dining room table that sits at least 10 comfortably, acres of manicured lawns with almond and fruit trees, a cozy hammock and 4-perfectly cozy bedrooms, one of which is handicap accessible. Extra bath linens and robes are provided--Johan & David haven't forgotten any of your needs or desires.
You can awake to the aroma of fresh coffee waiting just outside your bedroom door in the morning. Joan will ask you what time you would like breakfast, which was a new experience for us. Previously, we've been told what time breakfast was served. Joan's breakfasts couldn't be more healthy or scrumptous, with fresh local fruit and her delicious oatmeal pancakes, waffles and breads.
David is an attentive and fun host who takes a personal interest in your comfort and provides a wonderful beverage bar with libations to meet everyones tastes. Our stay wouldn't have been complete without the company of Chessy, the Johnson's mellow, friendly and sweet four-legged companion.
Johnson's Country Inn is simply the best B & B we've stayed in within the US. The price is competitive, the accommodations are very comfortable, spotless and the owners are friendly, professional and very helpful. They truly strive to make your visit to Chico one you will remember with fondness.

  • Liked — The comfort of the accommodations
  • Disliked — I couldn't stay longer

We have stayed at Johnson's Country Inn on our visits to Chico for the last five plus years. Joan and David, owners and innkeepers are kind and gracious hosts. We have stayed in each room of the house at one stay or another. While each room has a historical theme, it is carried out tastefully. The breakfast served in the dining room by candlelight is always filling and delicious. The property is situated in a quiet area of Chico surrounded by almond orchards. You won't be disappointed with a stay here...in fact you'll be talking about how soon you'll be back.

This is a very cozy place. Its very well-kept, in a pretty area just on the outskirts of town. You feel like you're in the country even though downtown Chico is only a five minute drive. The innkeepers, Joan and David, are very friendly and make you feel right at home. The rooms are nicely done as well. The furnishings are tasteful and modern. Breakfast is a treat, and on a summer morning you can't beat watching out over the orchards while you eat. I stay at a lot of B&B's and this is definitely one of my favorites in the "moderate" price range.
