“A Very Relaxing Stay...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2008

We celebrated our anniversary at this restful and welcoming B&B. It certainly lived up to its reputation and prior reviews. We stayed in the Paradisio room, which was spacious and with a great deck and view of the sunsets. Located close to great restaurants and a short walking distance to the beach. A very relaxing stay in a charming, informal and wonderfully "sleepy" town, even in the middle of the High season. The Sunset Inn is a good choice in Cayucos...The food at Cass House and Hoppe's are top cabin as well.

The champagne room was so roomy and with plenty of accommodations. I enjoyed the whirlpool bath and the shower. The fireplaces made the rooms so cozy and convenient to use. They had free DVD movies to watch, they provided ice water, milk and cookies. They provided free appetizers which we did not use because we were going to dinner and did not want to eat too much.
It was a relaxing walk down the beach. Cayucos is located between Morro Bay and Cambria. There was plenty of shopping and restaurants to choose from. The sunset inn staff provided places to eat and places to visit which made it so much easier for our first visit to Cayucos. Thank you 'Cayucos sunset inn' for a pleasant stay and excellent service. Hope to stay there again sometime in the future.

When you read consistently great reviews on trip advisor, and book based on those reviews, you sometimes wonder if any property can possibly be that good. The answer is YES!

Lisa and her staff are fantastic. The inn itself is beautiful. We have stayed at 5 star hotels and B&B's throughout the US and Europe. This B&B stacks up with the best of them and surpasses most of them. The reasonable nightly cost of a room belies the attention to detail and level of service you receive. Anything I could write would only echo other reviewer's remarks. Rooms, service, breakfast all amazing.

The inn which is located in a small laid back beach town provides total relaxation. You can just kick back, sit on the beach, take a walk along the beach searching out star fish, watch people fishing from the pier, or, if you prefer, it's just a short drive to any of the area attractions (we had a great lunch in Morro).

Others have reviewed the hour long wine and appetizers provided nightly. About 5:30 we went downstairs to mingle with the other guests. We all started talking, eating, and drinking. We were having a fine time. I did notice that it was getting dark out when, I think it was Sandi, quietly reminded us that we had 8:30 dinner reservations at Hoppe's and it was 8:30. She had already called them to let them know we were running late. The Sunset Inn had made wine available to us for over three hours. Then, I noticed that someone had lit the fireplace for our comfort.

What else can I say - Cayucos Sunset Inn should be on everyone's wish list of places to stay.

This is the best B & B you will find anywhere! The small California Beach Towns are disappearing, but you can recapture the magic of a small, funky, & fun beach town in Cayucos, and there isn't any better place to stay and experience it than the Sunset Inn. Lisa and her staff provide impeccable service! They think of, and take care of, every need you may have during your stay. The wine and appetizers in the evening are divine - the homemade cookies and cold milk at turn-down are not to be missed! All of this, plus an ocean view and a block to the beach! Fantastic!!! It just doesn't get any better. Each of the rooms has a theme, and they are just heavenly. The beds - to die for! We love staying here, and make it an annual get-away!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay here during our honeymoon and were excited to book it for a second stay for some long overdue R&R.

We stayed in the same suite (Sunset) and it looked just as we remembered it 5 years earlier (which is a good thing). It was well maintained and the attention to detail we had loved the first time around had only improved. There were additional toiletries and a few new decorating touches. As always the ocean views from the second floor are great. Note that this Inn is across the street from the beach (literally a minute's walk), not right on the beach (in case that's important to you).

So the bed is amazing, the spa tub and separate rain shower are excellent, and the breakfast is great. Fruit, Scones, and your choice of entree every day, plus snacks and wine in the evening and milk and cookies delivered to your door before you turn in for the night.

How is the staff? Simply put, Lisa is warm and engaging and the people she brings in to assist are kind and attentive. They took care of several requests for me prior to arrival and gave great suggestions on local restaurants and events.

This property is meant for romance and couples. I didn't see kids here either time we went and it isn't meant to be kid friendly.

We loved the Bali Suite, so spacious yet cozy. We enjoyed meeting with the other guests at breakfast and evening wine & appetizers.

We also enjoyed our chats with Lisa and Sandy. All the staff were gracious and very friendly.

We shall return!!!
