“Totally Awesome Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

Our arrival at Sunset Inn was the beginning of a totally awesome experience for us. First, we were greeted by the most wonderful woman, welcoming us to the Inn. She took us to our beautiful and fully equipped, luxurious room. We were very impressed with the seperate sitting room having its own tv and fireplace. The master bedroom was spacious and oh so cozy! Another fireplace, wet bar, refrigerator, sitting table and chairs and tv were arranged to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The private jacuzzi bath tub in our room was the ultimate experience for us, never having this before, we will return to the Inn just for this feature!! The balcony overlooking the towns main street and ocean is very refreshing and a great place for morning coffee or evening cocktails, or simply to watch the small town in action. We also can't say enough about the hospitality that the Inn offers, the breakfast in the dining area, wine and cheese, milk and cookies and fresh flowers, all this comes with your reservation. The town of Cayucos and the Sunset Inn are wonderful places to visit. We came for the Polar Bear Swim and the elephant seals up the coast in San Simeon. We highly recommend the Sunset Inn and we will definately stay here again!!

Sometimes you may be scared of going to the places that you don´t know, visiting a region where you are not able to tell whether one hotel is better than other. I know it. And because of that I can say that Cayucos Sunset Inn is the right choice!
Everything from booking the hotel room to paying was incredibly easy. The staff was helpful, knowledgeable and I more felt like part of one big family than the hotel guest. Honestly, the only thing that I found difficult here was to leave after some time! And I am not yet talking about the feeling from the stay itself !!
Yes, you can really live like a king, that´s at least how I felt in their incredibly comfortable bed or in my big private jacuzzi in the room. Or sitting on the balcony and watching the ocean. Also they treated me like a king when it comes to food. When I came down to the dining room and ate my breakfast, I could not be happiest. The evening wine tasting was just a cherry on top. And I could go on and on. Seriously, if anyone will ever happen to look for a room in this part of the California, choose this place.

This place has such a cozy and magical feeling that really completes a visit to the Central Coast. They've created an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're a guest at someones home, but you're waited on like royalty! After going out to dinner at a delicious spot recommended by their staff, we returned to our room where fresh milk and cookies were waiting! We had an ocean view, fireplace, jacuzzi tub, and the most comfortable bed. Come here if you're looking to get away from it all! It's a truly magical place to be. There's no where else like it in the area!

Room Tip: They all have a good view ... but the corner room is the best!

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of days last week. This place is more than a hotel or B&B. It's more a blend of the best of each. The rooms are hotel like. The bed linen is possibly the best I've seen even at hotel costing many times more. This is more than staying in a room in someone's house.
The owners are on site and incredibly informative, as are the welcoming staff.
We live in Santa Barbara, and come this way often, so it's not as if we didn't have an idea of what's in the area, but Lisa and John made every day memorable.

We loved this bed and breakfast. It was super clean, amazing views, fantastic breakfast, and accomidating staff. We had complimentary cheese and wine on our balcony every afternoon and milk and cookies were waiting for us when we returned to our room at night. We used the 2 person in room tub. We walked to local bars, bakeries, coffee shops, and a wine tasting bar. We have stayed in many hotels, but this is our new favorite and plan to return soon. The bed and sheets felt comfortable and the fire place was quit cozy. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. We did not want to leave.

Room Tip: You must get a room with a balcony. The suite was the best of course.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Sunset Inn. The staff was very friendly and there were many nice touches, such as:
very spacious rooms with nice decor and ornate furniture
fresh flowers in each room
stained glass windows
refrigerator, bar sink w/ reverse osmosis
high quality bed linens
two person jacuzzi tub w/ nice assortment of toiletries
DVD library
warm cookies and ice cold milk delivered to room
The main reason we didn't stay an extra night was because I found the bed mattress to be too firm and I wasn't able to get comfortable. At that price point, I want to LOVE the bed!! The breakfast was nice, but not extraordinary - blueberry french toast was a bit soggy and the chili relleno eggs were slightly undercooked, in my opinion! The location is at the end of the small town, close enough to walk to restaurants and antique shops, although on Tuesday, three of the town's best restaurants are closed for dinner so choices are limited! I was also a little disappointed not to find chocolates on my pillow, as I had read on their website, but at least they came through with yummy chocolate chip cookies!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Campagne Room on the second floor - it had a decent view of bay and pier. The rooms...
