“Good taverna with good food open all afternoon and evening!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

This taverna is open between 2 and 10pm which is really handy if you are touring or staying in the area and looking for somewhere nice to eat. It is perched right above Kato Asites and the restaurant area, both inside and out, has a fantastic view of the hills right across to the sea. The staff are really friendly and helpful (I think it's family run), the food is fresh and nicely cooked and the service is quite quick too! I believe you can stay here.

“The Best Greek hospitality and food to be found on Crete.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

This was our second stay in one of Earino's very comfortable guest houses. The accommodation is delightful, spacious and clean and the welcome from Nikos and his family is genuinely warm.
We were recommended to stay at Earino by friends of ours who live on Crete and we are delighted they did.
On our first stay we had intended to do what we usually do in Greece and eat in different tavernas each evening. However, having sampled Earino's offerings early on we realised there was absolutely no point looking elsewhere; the best, most authentic Cretan cuisine was a few yard's walk from where we were staying.
16 of us ranging in age from 5 to 60 had a memorable birthday meal (mine!) one evening and all enjoyed Nikos' efforts immensely. Service is relaxed but attentive and friendly.
Earino, like many of the best things on Crete, takes a little finding but it's worth doing so; set up in the hills above Kato Asites, the views across the mountains of the island are fantastic, by day and by night, stretching for miles across to the coast beyond Heraklion.
Nikos and family, thank you for two wonderful stays and many more delicious meals. Looking forward to seeing you again next Easter

“The best of things Cretan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

I am a local, but my wife is English so between us I think we look at places in which we eat with a broadly discerning and often critical eye. We love Earino because the food is very real, very Cretan (you find things that have disappeared from other menus), cooked freshly and great value. The situation (it is a little difficult to find) is fantastic with the mountains behind you and infront of you views right across central Crete, as far as the coast. It is a great area for walks. In winter the open fire adds to the atmosphere. Its clientale is in the majoirty local which gives a good indicator of quality. Lunch or dinner here is strongly recommended by us.
