“Lunch was meh.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

I went to lunch with my partner and we expected big things. This restaurant is known in the area as a top dog, so we were disappointed when it took over 20 minutes after we were seated to meet our server. We ate in the back garden area, which was beautiful, so we didn't mind too much. We decided to stick around, although several other tables left without paying for the drinks they consumed. The food was good, not great, and was certainly not worth the dollars shelled out. In the end we were given a lame apology and went on our way. I might go back, but not for lunch.

“Panniniville”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

The restaurant is a small family owned Italian restaurant with all fresh Italian delights. Although I have praised the food and ambiance for dinner, I visited the restaurant for lunch recently. As a business lunch, the restaurant provided quiet outside seating and allowed for business discussions without disturbance. Arnold, our waiter was very attentive as were both Mom and Pop as they visited our table frequently asking about our satisfaction. However the food was the highlight of the day. All three of us had one of their pannini sandwiches, a truly special delight surpassing the panninis I have had in Italy's restaurants.FYI the restaurant is closed on Mondays but open the other days. Give it a try if you are in the Santa Barbara area and would like to stroll down to the beautiful Carpinteria beach from the restaurant.

“Home Cooking At It's Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

Speaking with Anna and learning that she takes many of her food recipes from her Italian grandmother was I had to know. The food is great, unpretentious, and just damn delicious. Whenever my wife and I go pick up wines in Santa Ynez Valley, we stop by Giannfranco's on the way home to L.A., for their home cooked meals. You can't go wrong getting off US 101 at Linden Av. and driving a few block west to this gem.

“Great Italian Food in Carp!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

This restuarant is right next to Sly's but their prices are less: $$ and their pasta better. The hand made pasta just melts in your mouth! I recommend the Ravioli. The salads are good also. The Lasagne is one of the best I have ever had. If you want Italian, this IS the place!!!

“A hidden Jem in sleepy Carpinteria!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

From the moment you walk in, staff and the owners Anna and Franco greet you with warmth and comfort, just like you'd receive coming home. Simply casual elegance with a menu full of amazing culinary masterpieces! Oh and don't forget the incredible dessert tray, OMG! Weather permitting, try going around sunset and sit on the rustic patio in back, very romantic indeed!
