This was just an ok place to stay if you are being very thrifty, but we were highly disappointed. Stayed for 3 unpleasant nights. I grew up in Carpinteria and was sad to see this hotel so run down. The bathroom was old and the shelf was ready to fall off the wall. The towels supplied to us were thin, old, and just a little bigger than a hand towel. We kept having to ask for 4 towels since there were 4 of us in the very small room. The shower curtain was not a good size and water ran onto the floor. The rooms are not sound proof. The continental breakfast consisted of the usual pastries, bad coffee, and an unpleasant front desk person. It was supposed to be available until 10am and she packed everything up by 9:30. Part of the hotel is also home to people who don't have anywhere else to live. A few articles of our clothing were also missing and the front desk didn't seem to care. On our 2nd day of stay, we were told that we were incorrectly charged and needed an additional amount. The pool was very cold and the jacuzzi was too hot to sit in. I don't recommend it and hope to never stay there again. We're easy to please, but this was an uncomfortable stay. There are other and better choices in Carpinteria.
