“Great food,great price,great ambience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

We originally ate at Bicyclette just after it had opened a few years ago and it was good then.

The format has now changed and the food has got even better. I discovered that they have a new chef there and his love of fresh local produce and good cooking is clearly apparent. Two of us had normal food which was flavoursome and delicious. My daughter had a Pizza and all the people who rave about them in other revues are absolutely correct. She lived in Rome for a year and had to admit that the Pizza here was one of the best she had ever eaten.

The service was friendly and efficient. We ate 2 completely different meals there during the week ( one on July 4th) and both were excellent and good value for money. Absolutely worth a visit.

“Go here for the Pizza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

We shared three different pizzas with friends here and I would not eat pizza anywhere else in Carmel. Chef James Anderson is passionate about great food. The crust is wonderfully thin. I especially liked the pairing of spiced lamb sausage with a traditional tomato-based sauce. The mushroom pizza was also rich and hearty.
There are other foods on the menu, even breakfast. Everything cooked in a wood-fired oven. I'd like to try the French Toast next time I'm there. You can also purchase bread, bagettes or savory olive loaves, to take with you, but go early as the bread sells out quickly.
The only downside to this great place is that it is small and at busy times it can feel a little cramped.

“Delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

We had an amazing meal here - best lamb I have ever eaten in a restaurant anywhere. Lovely friendly people but service was a tad chaotic and the request for an ice bucket for our white wine seemed to cause an unexpected panic for a restaurant of this quality. Nevertheless, the abiding memory has to be the great food. Un grand merci, messieursdames.

“First night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

We ate there our first night in town. The food, wine and service was amazing. We had a quiet table in the back and it was very private. Would definitely go back.

“Lovely little place that lived up to the recommendations we had.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013 via mobile

We ate an evening meal at la bicyclette. The restaurant was lively and very busy but we had a table straight away. The menu is not huge and not French but is good. Starter small but main course a good size. No room for dessert although the people sat the next table tried and failed to get through the chocolate mousse which looked good. Decent wine at a reasonable price. All in all we really enjoyed it.
