My wife and I recently stayed at the Cobblestone Inn for two nights. While the property is well located and very quaint, I was not overly impressed with the rooms: the bathroom was tiny and the shower could use a good cleaning; noise was probably the biggest issue, being woken up by truck traffic early both mornings and little soundproofing between rooms. The continential breakfast was great, the staff friendly, but was disappointed in the restaurant recommendation. I'd probably look at other options if I were to go to Carmel again (once is probably enough!).
