We booked this as we travelled from SF to LA. We wanted something a little different to a chain.
We found it easily with our Sat Nav, but not sure would have found it without it - it's not that visible from road. There is very little parking there, but on-road parking is fine, which is what we did.
Check-in was fine. I did find the lady on the desk a little reserved and we had to ask for maps and then for her to mark the map with where we were and how to get anywhere.
Room was lovely - quaint is the best word I can use for it. Bathroom was nice too.
Really comfortable bed and a lovely night's sleep.
But went into shower in morning and it was a disaster - worst I have ever come across!
Nearly impossible to get water that wasn't cold or boiling. I could regulate it in tap, but once swapped to shower, it either was freezing cold if the cold tap was on, or if I turned that off, it became boiling. I kept twisting both taps until I got something that was just above freezing - and tried to shower - but the pressure was awful.
It felt like a shower taken with a showerhead you put onto a bath tap (and it was definitely a plumbed in shower)
Breakfast was strange! I went in and couldn't work out if I could sit down or wait to be seated - anyway there wasn't any clean table. went over to kitchen door and knocked - no response, stuck my head around - I thought someone saw me, but then nothing - eventually someone came out to check with me and told me to sit anywhere - I chose a table that had only cups left on it - dirty cups. All crockery is in presses and it's help yourself - which works fine once you know. Had lots of lovely waffles with maple syrup! It was a nice area to have breakfast in and people tended to talk to each other - lovely communal feel.
Checkout was fine.
We've have loved to have been around a little longer and maybe have a drink out in the patio area. I think it would be a lovely place to spend a few totally chill-out days.
