“Great place to get away and be with nature”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2011

This place was perfect for a get away vacation. Kid friendly. Lot's of activities, next to a great farm, and surrounded by nature. Only challenge is there is only one real restaurant so you get bored after a few days. Otherwise, rooms and service are great. Concierge was a bit aloof and more interested in her dog than showing you a map, but otherwise it was a great experience.

Room Tip: E-mail or call Travis. Room 216 was the best.

We stayed here 11/21/11-11/23/11 in Suite #226. The room was wonderful, the view was fantastic. We have stayed at many fine places in our lifetime (Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, etc.) and this was right up there with those and it was only two hours away from home. The staff were all great, the bartenders (John & Carlos) were fun! We ate dinner there one night and thought it was all very good. We had lunch & cocktails the next day and loved it. Room service breakfast was fantastic as well. If you are looking for a quiet getaway with understated luxury, this is the place!

Complete and total serenity is found at this resort in the hills of Carmel. Beautiful property located in a serene private area. Highend accomodations where the basic room is very large (the room is a "suite") with a spacious livingroom, bathroom and bedroom. All of the rooms have been recently renovated, with no expense spared. The decor is gorgeous yet understated. The area is so peaceful that deers are all over the ranch and don't run away when approached. Fantastic restaurant with "farm to table" cuisine. Great amenities including a heated pool, infinity hot tub, mountaintop yoga, evening smores at the fire pit, and morning hikes. Great personalized service and a very friendly staff. There is nothing bad to say about this resort (and believe me, I would say the negatives if there were any). I cannot wait to return!

Room Tip: The basic room, with a forest view, is great. Suite accomodations with a large livingroom, bathroom...

One of the most beautful places to stay. Home from home. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Accommodation set in amazing setting with the best gym i have ever visited. A gas fire in the bedroom was a lovely experience as it was so cold at night. Shall definitley stay again wish we had more time to do so this trip.

Room Tip: Ask to be close to reception otherwise you have to rely on staff ferrying you around the grounds for...

Girlfriend and I spent a night here based on tripadvisor recommendation and loved it. This is not a five star resort, but it is nice. Pack a suit and enjoy the great view from the hot tub. Bring good shoes and hike up huff-and-puff trail. Restaurant is just ok, so set expectations appropriately. Check their website for killer deals.

Husband I just stayed at CVR earlier this week. We checked in on Sunday afternoon, so it was relatively quiet. We had originally booked a Garland Suite but they upgraded us to a hilltop view ranch suite (better view but one fireplace versus two). I really enjoyed the fireplace in the bedroom and the heat was very welcome in the evening and in the morning. The room was great and very clean and new. I really enjoyed the bath products provided and the shower was nice and spacious. One thing to note is that the toilet flushes VERY loudly, so it can be somewhat startling in the middle of the night/early morning. Breakfast was excellent and was included in our package. Did not use the pool but the areas looked great. I enjoyed the property and would gladly return if there were more things to do in the area, but my husband and I aren't really into golf and the wineries leave much to be desired (compared to Napa and Sonoma, which are very close to where we live). Great stay and would recommend for families and couples. Hard to imagine not having a car while staying here because of the size of the property. Friendly staff throughout the hotel as well. One minor complaint is that we returned to our room after lunch and it was still not made up, so we had to call to make sure it would be while we went out again.

Room Tip: Recommend Bluff Suites in the 300 areas for views of the valley.

What a beautiful resort with so many fun activities, excellent food, service, rooms, grounds, and facilities! The reservation was booked through Perfect Escapes, which provided a complimentary room upgrade and included breakfast. The upgrade was to a large, comfortable and immaculate hilltop view suite overlooking the golf course and valley. We enjoyed the "bee experience" tour, tennis, swimming pool and hot tub at the Lodge, smores at night at the Lodge. The buffet breakfast at the Lodge was delicious -- even the pre-prepared eggs benedict was surprisingly good! Next time, we hope to see the lavender distillation tour, the hilltop yoga or tai chi, hike and golf. Highly recommend this resort for active couples from the Bay Area for a romantic weekend getaway.

Room Tip: All rooms have been recently renovated, so they should all be nice. But you could always request a...
