“Great B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Clean, spacious, large bathroom. We spend one night here. Just a few blocks from the beach, gorgeous sunset. A bit of a hike to the town when walking, and it gets very very dark at night.
When we arrived at check in, we rcvd a glad of wine, and a cheese platter, Brenda is a doll.
Make sure you wake up in time for the awesome breaskfast, my boyfriend ate just about everything there was. Fresh fruit, bagels, toast, eggs how you like, tea, coffee, fresh juice.
Can't wait to stay again!

Free Wifi!!

Room Tip: try to avoid the rooms on the 3rd floor, ceiling is slanted

This is a friendly and well appointed B&B in Carmel. While not loacted on the water, it is only 2 blocks away from the beach/shore and a short walk away from the main streets of Carmel. Nice and quiet - can hear the waves from your room (our room was at the front of the house - in the direction on the beach). The room was sufficient size (we had #9) and nicely decorated. The only quirk was the plastic shower curtains encasing the old-fashioned tub - a little like showering in a plastic bubble. Breakfast was fine - continental style. But the service was by far the best thing about this place. Mary greeted us with a smile and so much good information of sites, scenic views, directions and restaurants. Thanks for a great stay!

You arrive to some of the nicest Inn keepers and sweetest ladies to welcome you. I was staying in Carmel for a very special occasion (proposal) and a perfect B&B was what we were hoping for and what we got! I made our reservations a hair late so I was limited on my options. The only room they had was #2 on the first night which was a shared room on the top floor overlooking the garden area in the back yard. The second night we would have to move across the hall to #5 where we would have a private bath and be on the front of the house.

#2 - This room was small but perfect! There is a private vanity/sink area in the room so you dont have to use the shared bathroom to clean up and brush your teeth. We cracked the windows and the fresh air kept the room at a perfect temperature. The shared bathroom is right outside the bedroom and includes a very nice shower. After the first night, they asked that we pack up our stuff and leave in the room and they would move everything for us. It was a very simple transition while we were out and about for the day!

#5 - Little bigger than #2 and included a beautiful decorated private bath. It faces the ocean but the b&b is several blocks from the ocean and all the trees cover up the views. Although you cant see the ocean, you can definitely hear it and it was very peaceful when going to sleep. When we came back from dinner and drinks the second night, they offered and arranged to have a complimentary bottle of champagne which was such a nice treat.

Breakfast in the morning was excellent. Fresh fruit, coffee, tea, and the service was superb.

Highly recommended and great value for the price!

Room Tip: We had to share a bathroom upstairs one night but didnt realize that our room can with a vanity/smal...

The only reason why I'm not giving this 5 stars is cause we choose the bedrooms that shared a bathroom. But the people there are so warm and inviting. 2 mins away from the beach and a 10-15min walk to the shops and restaurants. Over all great place and great value. Loved loved loved it!!

We totally enjoyed our stay here, in fact next summer we are planning to return for a longer stay, we stayed on the 3rd floor but are planning on staying on the second floor next year. Nice people, good food, beautiful area, what more could you want. It seems that so many people have good things to say about the Sea View Inn that I don't need to repeat them. I will say that if you have never been to Carmel, even if you don't spend the night, at least spend an afternoon here in this lovely town. We brought friends with us from Taiwan and they just loved it. The California coast, cool weather and beautiful scenery, that describes Carmel and the Sea View Inn.

Only spent two nights here, wish it could have been more! Welcome we had was great after a 3/4 hour drive from San Fransisco. Great room in a quiet place although all of Carmel seemed to be quiet - just perfect. Only a short walk from the beach and what a beach!! The walk to the main area of Carmel was slightly uphill but well worth it when you get there. Great pubs and restaurants. However a torch is needed as there are no street lights but that is all part of the visit. Can recommend the Sea View - great hosts, very good breakfast, a good start to the day.

17 mile drive is a must especially if you are a golfer!

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be good and quiet
